Hi, I'm going to describe this as best I can. Started the bike up this morning. It reached normal idling speed (about 1200rpm) no problem. I pull off and the bike stutters/hesitates almost like there is a fuel starvation and then it accelerates normally and then stutters and then accelerates normally and then stutters and and... On Friday I removed and cleaned the air filter. Afterwards I rode the bike for a short distance and all seemed fine. After work today I removed the fuel tank cover etc to see if all the connectors on the air box were plugged in correctly. No problem there and all the fuel hoses also look fine. Any ideas what could be wrong?
I lifted the tank but did not remove it racman. I rested the tank at an angle by placing a support between the tank and the air box.
Leo,check fuel hoses, breathers under the tank for kinks or that they are not pinched. Can't be much if it was running ok before lifting the tank.
as dave says leo. thats the reason i asked. i would guess that you have kinked/pinched the fuel breather or actual supply pipe. good luck
Leo, has the bike been lest standing for a while before start up? Fuel does go off after a while, but that would normally be a couple of months or so
@Barstewardsquad. Will check it out today after work. @ Gilesy I do not have a quickshifter. Will check for pinched fuel hoses etc today.
I kinked the main fuel pipe, when putting my tank back and on full acceleration it was like ridding a bull !
Mine does the same. I have printed the schematics of all the pipe routing/positions. I do not remember seeing the fuel tank breather hose in the position that it should be when I had a quick check yesterday when I lifted the tank.
