Hi Art, the screen shot is the default app kill times before any adjustment. Yes your right they are a little long compared to what I had my Plus set to which was 60ms at 8,000 rev I guess.. Max adjustment is down to 40ms you cant go lower. Not tried it yet on the road but hope to next week so that's the real test

Yeah I thought default, I still have the app here and I thought the interface looked great, be interesting to see how you rate it against the HM Plus, shame you have not tried an SS and the the GP! I know price wise the HT is a budget/bargain price and it may well draw some interest for that reason and the phone app may have some bling value, it's how well it rides that's counts, perhaps mines faulty, time will tell.

Yes good that I have tried a HM Plus to compare directly, but like you say its a budget shifter but if it can match my old Plus I will be impressed. If it can be used for a wider range of revs will be super happy! SS is the ultimate no doubt but if this can perform as well as my old Plus at the higher revs and give some extra flexibility at the lower revs also then it will be a winner.

I know where your coming from, and like me, if you don't try it you will never know! I am all out for the best, whatever works is what interests me, I am not bound to anything or anyone, good products sell them selves, my enthusiasm is powered by that. I have had a good number of shifters over the years, Cordina and HM rate the best so far. HM's support and backup is world class, to date the team have shown me another level in R and D, if a better shifter comes along I like to see it.

This is where I'm a little lost Lamby and perhaps you may help, i will make this as simple as i can so i can understand what I'm saying myself..

So with the HM plus for smooth changes it is ideal for high rev range shifts.

But if i want to change in the low rev range then the shifts are a bit jerky so this is where this new shifter works because you can set it for low rev shifts and its still nice and smooth?

So my question is, if i get this new shifter and set it at a low rev range for say 4th gear because i tend to change at low revs in 4th, I get a smooth shift but what if on the very same journey i decide to change at a very high rev range in 4th, do i still get the same smooth shift?? Or does it need readjusting for a high rev change in 4th??

It's a good question Matt, the healtech can adjust kill time based on the revs but it doesn't have any input for the gear your in so the kill time is the same for 2nd or 4th.

Now at 5k in 4th accelerating with full throttle the load wil be diffrent to second gear at 5k full throttle.. Now how that extra load effects kill times between gears I'm not sure but will certainly test this out on the road test :) but yes the HM Plus can only be used super smooth at high or low gear changes depending how you set the kill time.

Me too! I wanted to know how revs vs gear effects the smoothness too.

When I am not on this iPad I may just do that. Cost is the governing factor in most debates, I can add into the discussion about this and that but unfair to compare a 300 quid product with one near a grand. One of the key factors with say the HM SS is it knows when the gear has been engaged so even if a time of 60ms is set and the gear is engaged in 35 the CPU is fast enough to release the ignition prematurely giving a smooth shift, so revs are irrelevant, I will have a think how I can write some info that is not bias to any particular brand or product.
