He did well at 600 level on the best bike on the grid but he's suffered on 1000s before. It will be interesting to see how he goes - I can see a few podiums from him and maybe the showdown but not top 3. It will be a good championship this year with loads in the mix.

Halsall Racing has announced Christian Iddon and Josh Waters will form its rider line-up for the 2015 MCE British Superbike Championship, riding a pair of factory-backed Suzukis.

Halsall racing heads into its third season of competition having assumed control of Suzuki GB's involvement in British Superbikes from BMW-bound TAS Racing, the Jack Valentine-helmed squad having entered a single privateer Kawasaki in 2013 and 2014.

Heading up its charge will be two-time race winner Waters, who moves teams but stays on Suzuki machinery, and Iddon, who turns to BSB competition in 2015 after stand out performances on the international stage with MV Agusta and Bimota in recent years.

For former Australian Superbike champion Waters won two races aboard the Tyco Suzuki en route to ninth in the overall standings and, having signed for Halsall before its deal with the manufacturer came about, says he is pleased to be sticking with the GSX-R1000.

"I am really happy to be back in the Championship again next season and it is great to be staying with Suzuki for 2015. I have had a lot of success in my career with Suzuki so to be back with them in Martin's [Halsall's] team is really exciting.

"We ended the 2014 season strongly with the Suzuki, so next year we want to hit the ground running and start where we left off. I feel like I already know the Suzuki and with the support we have we can only improve and go for more podiums and more wins. I know that the team with Jack [Valentine, team manager] have a lot of experience and are really determined for next season, so we are all feeling ready to get started."

Save for a handful of appearances over the years – including one outing on a Bimota at Assen in 2014 -, this is set to be Iddon's first full season in BSB. Nonetheless, after race wins in British Supersport, a podium in World Supersport and an eye-catching part-season turn on the Alstare Bimota in World Superbikes, Iddon is looking forward to be tackling BSB with an accomplished manufacturer team.

"I am really happy to be back and with an official team. I have never ridden a Suzuki before so that's a new and exciting experience for me. The team are really working hard ready for the new season. The Halsall Racing team have had a rapid and meteoric transition from when they first joined the British Championship paddock and with the backing from Suzuki GB they will only get stronger.

"I have spent two seasons developing new bikes, which has made me a stronger rider, but with the Suzuki and the combined experience of the team and Jack [Valentine, team manager] we can hopefully fire in some settings that only need refining so we can hit the ground running at the start of the season.

"As a rider I am excited to get back to the Championship to race in front of the huge British crowds - they are the best in the world, and that is one of the things I am most looking forward to in 2015."

BSB: TAG Kawasaki announces three-strong BSB entry

Anvil Hire TAG Kawasaki has announced it will tackle the 2015 MCE British Superbike Championship with a three-strong entry comprising Richard Cooper, Filip Backlund and Shaun Winfield.

After a successful tenure at Supersport level, TAG Racing stepped up to the Superbike ranks in 2014 and showed flashes of strong form, particularly in the hands of Cooper, who scored the team's first podium in the wet at Brands Hatch.

Though Cooper's season was curtailed by a broken arm after a crash at Thruxton, he returns to action for 2015 and will be joined by Backlund, who secures a full BSB berth after an eye-catching stint with FFX Yamaha towards the end of last season, and Winfield, who competed in a handful of races with the team.

"Coops was so unlucky to get injured, just after we made the step up to the podium, and getting him back on the bike was always a priority for us,” said team manager Rob Winfield. “We deliberately didn't rush him back last season and he is looking fit and has been riding over the winter to keep his hand in.

"Filip is a very promising and professional rider. You don't win races in Superstock 1000 without having a lot of talent and he also impressed when he jumped on the Yamaha superbike towards the end of last year. He's already arranged an apartment in Burton-on-Trent to be close to our team workshops and we are looking forward to working with him over the year.

"As a team we are also committed to supporting young British riders. Shaun had some good rides after being thrown into the Superbike last season and we are looking forward to seeing what he can do with a proper testing programme behind him."

Retaining title backing from Anvil Hire, TAG Kawasaki will begin pre-season testing in Jerez in March

    Burns rescued by Gearlink Kawasaki

Joe Burns has announced that he will now be riding for Gearlink Kawasaki in this season's MCE British Superbike Championship.

The 22-year old had been listed as the sole rider for the In House Developments team but, following an apparent breakdown in relations, had no hesitation in signing to ride the Gearlink Kawasaki ZX-10R. He will join Ben Wilson and Glenn Irwin, who will be riding Kawasaki ZX-6Rs in the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship.

"I'm elated to have signed for the Gearlink Kawasaki squad,” Burns admitted, “I have known Michael, Norma and some of the other members of the team for many years now. I have always been impressed by the outfit they run. I believe the package is as strong as that of any other teams and I can't wait to get working on the track."

Burns is already familiar with the ZX10R, having competed on one in the National Superstock 1000 series for the past four, finishing joint seventh in last year's standings.

"Having been in talks with various riders over the past couple of months, with no advancement, I approached Joe earlier this week and, after a meeting, I am delighted to have signed him to ride the Gearlink Kawasaki ZX-10R Superbike for the 2015 season,” team principal Michael de Bidaph confirmed, “I feel that Joe's approach and commitment to his racing will fit in with the Gearlink Kawasaki team's ethos."

Vid of Danny Buchan (2014 Superstock 1000 champion) doing a few laps of testing on his 2015 BSB bike thats not yet fully developed. I normal track day traffic he was about 2 sec off Leon Haslams lap record on a full blown WSBK, apparently his best was 133.08 - under 0.5 secs of the record of 132.6

This lad has a good shout at the 2015 BSB championship.

Just noticed that Peter Hickman isn't on this list, does anyone know what his plans are? Maybe he just hasn't signed a contract yet.

    Also no Rutter yet.

Quite a few missing from last year at the moment like Jacob Smrz, Patric Muff, Ben Wilson . Hopefully more will appear as the season draws near.

I'm fairly certain that our number 1 BSB girl is racing 2015 as she's got pics of her refresh of her bike on her FB page.
