Any one had any problems with the water pump on the new 2014 blade, found a small amount of coolant on the floor under the bike today. The bike was new last year only got 50 miles on her before it went into storage for winter. Could anyone tell me if there is a small hole in the underside of the pump on the blade ? as I know from the VFR1200 there is one and its normal for a small amount of coolant to weep from this on the VFR according to the manual ! any help would be appreciated as you can guess I am a bit p....d off at the moment.

Might have been overfilled when new and with expansion of the coolant from getting warm the excess has leaked out

Yes there is still plenty of warranty on it, its just so disappointing on something this new and this is not the first time I have had this problem. Same thing on two other blades in years gone by. It will be going back to the dealers.

+1, if the res is overfilled it will over flow on the left side - it will generally do this once the ignitions is switched off.

Checked all the overflow pipe etc , the coolant had tracked down the sump to the sump plug so it was on the other side I could just see where it had tracked from the bottom of the water pump. That's why I asked is there a weep hole in the shaft of the pump close to the crank cases as most pumps on the Hondas seem to have ? The only thing I can think which was mentioned regarding water pumps was the mechanical seals differing materials contracting when cold allowing it to weep when its not being used for some time.....any other suggestions welcome.
