Weather seemed nice today and been clucking to start it up all winter so might have to go for a blast !!! Got loads to do to finish daughters bedroom I started before Christmas, but hey, be rude not to go out for an hour. Anyone else riding out tomorrow ?
It's salt city out there at the moment 3 hours cleaning today to get rid of a weeks commuting grime, it's a strange man that rides for pleasure in these temperatures
Was really nice to go out for a ride someone else other than the daily commute to work, only out for a short drive but I loved it. Who you calling strange?? lol
Nice to ride this time of year, the crisp air seems to give the motor a bit of extra poke!. Think I've got my gear sorted for the first time too, just wear a neoprene jacket over my leathers don't even notice the sub zero temps - either that or it's taken me a best part of a decade to man up! Make it worth it though as your ratio of ride/clean time would be about 1:1! Tonnes of salt out there but rather that than ice....
Go for the ride, but come back via Halfords with a gallon of muc off ptfe spray and you'll be fine... Used mine all last winter and twice a week, jet washed it, covered it in a can of the stuff and she's still minto ! The bike loves sucking in cold air
Been out on saturday for the first time in 3 months and gave me a chance to get my head back in to gear before I ride out to the coast on Tuesday. It's definitely textiles weather though
Been tempted to get out too, but after seeing a few gritting lorries on the local roads last night decided against it. Hopefully only another 6/8 weeks or so before the weather improves.
Been out and was nice to get it singing, what a loverly sound, music to my ears. Hard to ride properly as bends are damp, muddy n wet in places. Felt the back slide out on one roundabout mid bend about to squeeze the power on slowly and still did, made me ride more careful and kept it stood up as much as I could when opening up. Made me smile for a few hours, roll on summer and Germany/Assen MotoGp road trip.
Well I've been out on Betty just for a blast round cos roads were damp/wet in places. Came home did a ride by and went out again. Couple of hours out on bike in January can't beat it. Quick jet wash in morrisons and she's back in garage sleeping.
Spent a further 2 hours on Sat cleaning the calipers/pistons/pads and disc bobbins which have crudded up solid in just 3 weeks commuting since they were done at Christmas..........don't forget the hidden bits folks, the unseen bits are rotting as you read, if you have been out and about this month.
Brave man lol The snow has just melted in places up here, but more is forecast this week. Think i'll leave mine in hibernation at least until March where i'll get her Tax'd and head up to the Scottish Motorcycle show in Edinburgh :-0
