Yup its meant to stop bubbles forming and the fluid bouncing about inside the res (possibly allowing air to be drawn into the res outlet hole) when the bikes being flung from side to side or going over bumps.
well blow me over - thats a new one on me! so if thats the case.. wouldnt there be one for the front as well?
There often is a plastic one in the front too. Link to rear master cylinder parts fishe showing said part. http://www.ronniesmailorder.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=6114123&category=Motorcycles&make=Honda&year=2014&fveh=236929
nothing comes with the Brembo kits I've fitted then, nor the origional! thanks for that - I'll find it from the bin in the garage and put it back haha!
Fucking shocking that ,total Boy Scout ,I guess the Pratt was colour blind ,name and shame rings a bell
May sound like an obvious thing to say, but have you actually tried the indicators to see if they in fact work correctly? I'm not trying to teach you to suck eggs here, and I am sure that is the first thing you tried, but I only say as when fitting my R&G tail tidy, they had wired the number plate light incorrectly so it only worked when I switched the red and black wires to opposite. Bit tardy on R&G's front, but easy mistake to make I guess. The stealer could have found the same thing with the indicators? Unless that is just the OEM loom?
Honda wanted £550 to do my 16k service, I've done it myself as I know the £550 will end up being £850 + as they will refuse to use any part that looks worn and will only use genuine parts as if the bike fails it will come back to them
Just had the 16K service done on mine, admittedly I asked for a lot of extra work to be done. Full brake service with abs bleed new plugs air filter and new cam chain tensioner plus a load of other bits, they had the bike 6 days and ended up with a total cost of £1854.68. I use my bike daily in all weather and work 6/7 days a week I really don't have time to do a full service on it myself, and the use of a free bike is needed when its away having work done. I use this Honda dealer as it was the only one that managed to fix my abs issue.
I've got a 2014 RR-E which I bought second hand. I had a problem with water in one of the indicators - they had been fitted upside down like yours - unbelievable. The wiring had been reconnected like yours so the indicators worked correctly...
It took my local Honda Dealer 2 full days to manage to bleed the ABS, luckily it was under warranty otherwise that would account for £800+ of labour alone!
The labour charge was £881.27 that was for 15.15 hours work. It was there for 6 days mainly due to waiting for parts first was the pistons for the calliper's, then I had to wait for the cam chain tensioner. Unless they change the abs system on the blade I will not get another abs model.
I'll be asking for an upfront price then when mine goes into the dealers, that way if they feck it up its their problem. Surely honda have a service manual saying how long each job should take.
Yes all jobs have a fixed rate time but you have to allow a small margin of error as they decide these times on brand new machines and don't allow for seized bolts or damaged fixings etc. which could hold things up a touch.
The bike is just under 3 years old, however they were replaced once already at 8k done under warranty.
