    Just been looking how to remove it ready for the upgrade... the bike is immaculate with only 5k on the clock yet there is rust on the silencer?

    Did Honda forget to paint them or something from new?

    In fact the whole system seems pretty poor... the downpipes are going a nice shade of brown as well ... :(

    Guess I'd better get the autosol out!

    steel rusts unless coated to protect,regardless of how well you clean it.

    They are only mild steel headers, get yourself some nice titanium ones ;)

    I thought they were stainless steel? Why on earth would Honda put mild steel headers on a top flight superbike?

    My point was Honda have painted it ... Yet it's corroded pretty badly. Appalling imho.
