I'd actually forgotten about my trashed AIM Solo until you posted this thread Ste! Just routed it out and it still powers up but is fairly mangled! Must get it posted off to AIM and get it repaired and re-shelled!
Just been reading my instructions and powered it up, might as well take it to Oulton tomorrow to see if it works, (only there for dinner and to be nosey)
not really,it's there to show how your doing, and if you use it how it should be (as in the data side of it) can show you areas where your losing time, and how consistant your are at various points of the track. Matt (and jase,or whoever else wants to have a play),once you have a few sessions under your belt,we can download the data onto my laptop and do some comparisons,to see where your faster/slower.be good to get a few of our data together to have a brain storm
Scooby downloaded my data and his in Jerez and we could compare each other's data(braking /speed/etc and could see where one was quicker than the other in sections which then helped me get my quickest time around Jerez so really is worth taking the time to look at the data as it will improve your lap times .(Cheers Mate) Matt maybe you should send your data to Shaky as it might help him improve his times
If any of you track boys are running 2012 onwards clocks can you not use the lap timer on the dash? Just press the start button when passing the line. I know you can't download the data or times but it's got to be better than using camera footage as FPS would come into play
prob is (for me anyway) i'm too busy concentrating on my braking point down the straight to think about pushing the button.... and you wont always get the same point so you will either cut each lap short or make it too long. Handy though when you want to impress your friends with awesome lap times lol
yea they are fine as a rough guide, but you can't beat GPS for ease+accuracy.the camera would be more accurate i' of thought for the reasons jimbo says
If we had blades yeah but me and Scooby have s1000 the forum mods have tried to get rid of us but we refuse to leave this great forum .
jase, you do realise there is a built in lap timer on our "superior" bikes?,not only does it give you times, but also some data like %of throttle opening, max sped etc. ytou can do it manually like the "inferior" blade,or set up the 2D infra red pick up. *calm down ladies, only joking
Surely the easiest way to find out is to run the ghost at home whilst timing it with a stopwatch. Two minutes should be enough for most circuits. This would give an indication of its accuracy.

Problem is that gps isn't that accurate! I use one daily to log my hiking (6500miles in 3 years) and it often has me hiking over water and through buildings Even WAAS enabled gps is several yards out.
