Anyone know how much fuel to add to the power commander at 0% throttle to resolve the hunting idle? I've dialed in '3' which has helped but its still not quite right. Ideas?
Hi ocd , could you send me a copy of your map to try on my bike. I've got the hunting idle with a r77 fitted. I just want something to tide me over until I get a custom map done Would you recommend fwd ? Thanks.
Have you considered ringing Richard at Dynojet uk in preston ? I had my PCV fitted to my CB1000R and a custom map done by Richard and its just perfect, all the hunting at idle, surging at a constant throttle etc has gone for good.... he expained what and how he did it all... went right over my head, but he knows his stuff !
Already spoke to them mate hence its sorted now. The bike is going back to Frank or Richard very soon
Send me email address. Yep I recommend FWD highly ... They have sorted all my bikes and always been spot on.
Basically if you have a power commander fitted you need to raise the fueling at 0% throttle due to lack of back pressure in the exhaust. Adding fuel between 750-1500rpm is where you need it. I started with 3 in these rpm blocks but landed up at 10 after speaking to a tuner. The video is with them set at 10... You may get away with less so a bit of trial and error is needed
Thanks for the tips before - given it a go with mine this evening to not much avail I'm afraid. Tried adjusting those rpm blocks in 3 point increments from -10 to +10, and the richer I make it (+10) the worse it seems to run. Now it's stopped and I'm sat out here with the bike, smells very fuelly and rich! So maybe that is my problem... I also inadvertently hit reset on the throttle calibration window too which meant winding it to the stop whilst running to readjust... sorry neighbours, oops! Anyone know what the Duty % means? I've noticed mine is always around 2 at idle but can't find anything in the PCV help files that tells me what that means...
Fuel Duty simply means % of injector capacity ... Nothing to worry about unless goes above 90% duty which on a NA engine is very unlikely. +10 is rich definitely ... I've actually turned mine down to +6 now. It's worth noting fueling doesn't stabilize straight away but can take a few a couple of runs ... I've no idea why either!
Huh... maybe I shouldn't have been so hasty in putting the standard Yoshi PC map back on then! To be fair, it's not that bad anyway, I'm just being a tart about it. I'll just do what I'm sure someone will recommend to me in a minute - book it on a dyno then JFRI!
