WTF !!! Bad day number 2.... After my shitty day yesterday of gear indicator fiasco, putting a slight dink in my freshly painted wheel which now has to be retouched, and then inadvertently melting through some wires while soldering something else, today hasn't started much better...
Got up nice and early as i wanted to get my seat sent off to be beautified by Jimmy at Car and Marine, after a good chat yesterday with him about how sexy he can make it (Watch this space as it should be epic), I also wanted to build my wheels up and get the tyres on this morning, but oh no... The demons of feck ups wanted to play too ! Beautiful immaculate fresh gold paint.. Impeccably cleaned discs... Brand new Ti disc bolts... Should all be good right !? No !! Two Ti front disc bolts snapped while torquing them up to a mere 20nm as the book suggests
How can this be when Ti is (or suppose to be) stronger than aluminium ?? Should have pulled a thread before Ti snaps i would have thought, but no... Lesser of too evils i suppose but still shouldn't have happened ! Luckily managed to dremmel a slit in the top and srewdrivered them out easily enough thank fick, but still... My level of pissed off right now is huge and no amount of stamping on a broken bolt or swearing or wrachet throwing has made me feel any better... Got them from ebay so i have no phone number to call to threaten anybodies life with, so I'm just sitting here stewing about it
Sent them a heated email and pushed the buttons really hard tho... Shit like this puts it all back another week while i wait for a response and then get more sent out etc... Don't know whether to start doubting my torque wrench or what... So so so so so pissed off

Oh, and its just got better.... Postie has just turned up.. Lately he has been bringing me such happiness most days in the form of beautiful performance accessories, but not today... Just a bill from DHL for £75.01 for the Ohlins i got sent from America... Oh deep joy, what an amazing bastard day its is :(

How did you do the wheel? Pity about the import charge but still a whole lot cheaper than UK prices though, so there is still an upside :)

    This is true mate...
Like a twat, i was getting the new wheel bearing in with a press and dropped a big socket that i was using to guide it in with on the rim  Only i tiny dink but enough to stir up my ocd !
Then noticed when i turned it over that the wood that the wheel was laying on on the press had marked the edge in a few places where the paint was still relatively soft
Again, nothing terrible but, again, enough for the ocd... Gonna get wheels put on now just incase anymore incidents happen and i can drop it back down the painters for a little touch up on monday !

Thanks bro... Your right ! Just need a hug and a tea and it'll be fine... Watch out if you get Ti from Motorstore-direct on ebay, is the moral of the day !!!

Yeah, I've been using him too but when i spoke to him at the time he only had rear disc bolts and i found the whole kit front and rear on ebay from this lot, and i hate to say now, half the price of anywhere else...

Anyway... Lets change the subject... My seat should look the absolute dogs testicles when it comes back and the guy says it'll only take about two days ! I made the post office this morning already and its guaranteed to be with him before 1 on monday ! We are going for carbon look edges, with gold stitching and 1000RR logo embroidered in the middle to the rear, with the 1000 done in gold and the RR in red, and of course gel padding !
