Just in from the garage, I see Si has already beaten me to this but heres an alternative way to fit the grips without breaking the clips of the original throttle tube.

    1: Remove bar ends
    [IMG]

2: Undo 2 off screws for throttle cable housing
    [IMG]

3: Slaken throttle cable tensioner fully
    [IMG]

4: After slakening the throttle tensioner, we realised that there still wasnt enough play to remove the cable ends without breaking original throttle cam. Therefore we proceeded to remove the tank and air box.

5: Ensure throttle bodies are blocked off to prevent anything falling in !!!
Slacken off both cable tensioners and, release cables from their housing.

6: Remove cable ends from throttle cam now you have enough play
    [IMG]

7: Spray silicone spray inside tube of Rizoma throttle tube, fit onto bar, and fit cable ends into cams.

8: Re-fit cable housing and re-do 2 off screws. Retension cable adjusters at throttle bodies. As per pictures at note 5:

9: Re-fit airbox and fuel tank.

10: Remove clutch side handle grip via peeling off original grip
    [IMG]

11: Slide on new Rizoma grip, and tighten grub screws.

12: Fit bar ends, I chose to go with the Rizoma bar ends.

13: Start up bike and let it heat up. Then adjust throttle cable adjuster 'as per note 3:' so that there isnt too much play at the throttle, and also so that it isnt revving the bike on its own.

    Step back and admire

Nice one! I thought about removing the tank and cables at the throttle body end, but bottled it!

    You pleased with them??

I couldn't be happier with them mate. They're stunning. It took a little more time than I first thought but was easy enough once I got the tank and air box off.

Another great post for a mod worthy of canine genitalia.

I'm lapping up these new step by step builds. F**k off Haynes. LOL.

Yup they feel fine mate. Honestly can't see there being a problem. I'll need to wait till I get out a descent run with them, to comment further.

Great thread mate ... as Ken says "liking these picture builds" . The bit I hate when removing the airbox is re-fitting the petrol pipe .

Getting that little clip and rubber doobry fitted is a REAL pain

Yup there isn't much room for my big chubby fingers to get in and remove or put it back on. There tends to be a lot of swearing at that point :)

    Haemostats.

About £2:00 a pair. Brilliant for this kind off work as you can pick how tight to grip then lock it off and let it go.

snap on do something like them, but they're bloody expensive
