He will be checking his data wondering how a ten year older blade with a large pilot on board got passed
Oh bugger, suspect that is a "guess what is about to happen" and not a "look what just happened" photo
Great day with the lads really had to watch yourself in the corners and steady out in the morning but the pace by everyone got better as the day went on thanks to Maz for the cakes (I do like flapjacks if there's a next time) Bike felt mint and was also running the new Met RR 200/55/17 and was cracking on for a few sessions (1.55) which was happy with considering track temp . I seem to destroy tyres more than most well check this out for the end of the day I am wondering whether the wide profile has helped my bad tyre wear will know for sure once track temps get better but for now I am a happy boy I am there next Friday with Cookie and Andy .
Looks decent jase... Are you there a week Friday or this Friday? Is the bm feeling like a completely different bike now with the suspension done
Did you even pull out of the garage jase looks brand new ha. Can't wait to try them. Glad a good day was had by all - gutted al it seems the bad luck struck again but hopefully not too bad. So wish I was closer to oulton. Steve - jase loves you back too
There week Friday Daz for the double header not booked the Saturday will see how work is . Bmw felt awesome like it did in Jerez just feels so much better to handle but now I said that I will crash
Yeah, seems to be! Had issues getting my gear shift position right then noticed my Ohlins Steering Damper was weeping but bar that all was good! Just too much patchy damp bits and cold track for me, but the 'Test Day' can be considered a success!
Glad you all sort of had a good day and allblade you are ok . jase that tyre looks new glad you got it sorted or its your not going around the full corner on 90% throttle so wasn't killing the tyre . Might get some of them first round at brands be a bit too cold for Dunlop KR s I think
Im all about the positives which there were one or two today but the negatives need addressing so lets get them sorted.. Yes Andy did pass me, it was in the morning. There were a few of us chatting in the garage when we hear Marion declare a tin of cakes, Andy flew past me and i'll be honest, i stood no chance So onto the trackday itself, as I've mentioned before i hate the wet and refuse to ride in it but the track was damp in the morning so thought i'd give it ago. I was putting times of 2:27 in, (long way of the expected 1:57). I put this down to a number of things, very damp track first thing along with very cold conditions. A massive lack of confidence riding in such conditions, i realised I'm a propa little girl riding in the wet and just about everyone in the fast group past me, including Andy For some reason i had no confidence in the bike, i have new leathers on so I'm slipping all over the seat and, my knees don't grip the stomp grips they just slide off. The bike itself is just a beast, from the last time i rode it, it just seems that someone added another 100bhp making it feel uncontrollable. Its probably just the gearing and quick action throttle. The traction light was going mad and every time i opened the throttle the back end felt like it was sliding all over the place. I just couldn't ride in the morning and the boys reminded me of what i had to live up to Yes they took the piss These are the main negatives that i can think of, for now Now the afternoon was a different matter, whilst the track was still a little damp in places and it was still cold, Andy failed to pass me at all Besides Jase who by the way is going to take some beating no one form the forum was faster I managed to get my times down to 2:03 and then 2:02 which i think is respectable for the conditions. I just thought fook it, if i crash i crash I also turned the traction right down which seemed to help as i had had it on full for the morning. The bike is going to take some taming and it really and getting used to, would be interesting to see how Jimbo does on it , which he's more than welcome to have a go. I need to do something with these leathers and tinker with the foot rests and possibly even switch the gear change over.. The boys were a great laugh as always and even if i didn't get on track its worth turning up for the crack...
Good day , nice to meet everyone , Alblade unlucky or what!!!!!!!!!, Its a shame it was only infield viewing (3) corners bridges all closed off , Thanks maz cakes spot on
