Had a 47" Samsung for about 6 years now and it has been great for us, but make sure you buy an aftermarket stand as Samsung ones used to have a habit of collapsing.

I have a 32" LG for when I work away and rent a place but personally I prefer the Samsung remote/menu system.

Of the 2 I would probably go for the flat one.

Almost forgot. Don't buy it from Currys, go to John Lewis instead as will be same price or cheaper, and have a better warranty.

Never really watch the 3D much, spoils the film imo, however the effect on the LG is great. I'm on the fence on curved TVs?

We have samsungs through out the house and get on really well
    With them
However a friend had the curved one and when sat directly infron of it the pic quality was fantastic, any other seat in the house didn't work tho

The only negative I have on samsungs is the speakers are on the back and can affect the sound quality a little but nothing you would really notice

There's been a lot in the news recently about Samsungs voice recognition being able to hear everything that's said in the room. Apparently this can be heard by third parties unless you turn off the voice recognition feature.

ok, you've looked at the Samsung 55" HU7200, but try this for a comparison vs the Panasonic 55"AX630.
Buy PANASONIC VIERA TX-55AX630B Smart 3D 4k Ultra HD 55" LED TV | Free Delivery | Currys

Panasonic has 3 HDMI 2.0 inputs, Samsung only have one (these are the 4K inputs).
Panasonic is 1200Hz, Samsung is 800Hz.
Panasonic & Samsung have all the Catchup Apps, but Panasonic also have a 7 day roll back guide (Freetime).
Yes the Samsung is curved, but the Panasonic is £400 cheaper @£999 with a 5 year warranty (6 year warranty if you buy from a Panasonic Store).
