removing the weight from standard clip on

    Am stuck at work with no access to workshop manual, can anyone tell me if it's possible to remove the weight from inside the standard clip on easily as need to remove them to fit my lever guards thanks

    They just pull out, most complex way to do a simple task by Mr Honda!

    Yeah, sometimes you can just pull them out. It's the sole reason that Honda have not made a new blade, they spent so long developing those bar ends!

    Spookily i was eyeing up a pair of them bad boys myself today buddy !! They are gonna look lovely :D

    Just the machined one arrived although now that I have seen the carbon one, I'll need to swap again aggrhh

    Now, i've bought some Oberon bar ends (until the lightech guards get sorted ;)), and the dude at Oberon said my bit inside the clip ons was somehow bolted in there and the grips had to come off to get to whatever retains it ! I've just glued heated grips on and its not an option, so he said sometimes you can smash the bolt from inside (loads of hassle) !?
    Was he talking jive ?
    I haven't had a look at it yet as it sounded one them "gonna be a bitch" jobs :confused: ??!!

    Ah, thats a bit of a fail mate ! I thought you'd have sniffed the carbons out straight away !

    The lower image is 600rr but much the same, think Honda's plan was to decouple the bar end from the clip on thus reducing vibes even more. Complex imo.
