I have to give a "big up" to Dan at Hill4Leather ! I have used him a few times to do alterations on my bike leather as his work is amazing ! I not a standard size as I'm 6' 2" with a 50" chest and a 34" waist, so nothing fits me well off the peg. Last year I took an Icon jacket to him and he made it fit perfectly and even finished with a few lil mods and made it even better looking than it was originally.. I was close to getting a new one piece made, but I have a bit of a crush on a few Alpinestar and Dainese suits. I spoke to Dan prior to getting anything and he advised what to look for regarding stretch panels etc I he was to easily alter it ! I went to the MCN show and found the one.. An Alpinestar Atem ! Tried on the biggest they had and it fitted lovely except it was really baggy around the waist and the arse was hanging down, but reckoned he could sort it and struck a bargain deal with the seller.. I took them to Dan who is based in a little village near Aldershot, and slipped them on for his perusal... He wasn't as chuffed with my decision as I'd have hoped in my kangaroo finery as he stood there scratching his head looking at them from all angles armed with his bit of chalk and a tape measure, muttering things like "tut, what they done here, tut tut, ooh, that's not gonna be easy tut tut" etc... He worked out he need to take the whole zip out, shorten the crutch, draw in the waist and shorten the leg from the thigh... Today, just a week later I was back. Tried them on and they fit so perfectly !! They might as well have been taylor made and there is no sign at all that anything has been changed from what they were meant to be ! He even improved them were he found a bit that needed finishing better for protection on the inside ! I have total flexibility in them to and no need for any struggling while waiting for them to break in a bit. I can't emphysise how happy I am with them !!! So, if you want your leathers to fit properly, need repairing or just want them blinged up with names or logos etc, then give Dan a shout, you'll be hard pushed to find better, and I've tried a few over the years... www.hill4leather.com 0845 6435164
nice one G.. my leathers have a saggy arse as well because A) i can't grow and arse, and B) i've a chest and back protector that doesn't fit midget sized leathers - even though I've a 34 waist as well! wish he was closer me for a "tuck" ;@)
Ah, shame dude... I bought a Knox body armour vest that has a back protector attached and wore it for the fitting so everything was tailored around it ! I'll stick up some pics later with the new X-Lite for your visual enjoyment
Great news blackness may go and see him as mine don't fit perfectly.. I have short legs and a long body (sounding like a freak) but a nip and tuck here and there woundnt go a miss
I think its a worthy investment Lamby... The idea of them is to hold you together as well as stopping you getting ground away ! You want a bit of snugness in them... Only about 15 mins from you too mate !
Great pics Blackness, well we've all done it haven't we..... Haven't we? That lid looks fantastic with the suit, great match!
