i am advising anyone who is thinking of using Hermes to think again, the company is a absolute joke two weeks and parcel still not delivered,God knows how much in phone calls at a premium rate number .be warned stay well clear
My Herpes is Yodel's biggest competitor in the "Who is the worst courier company" contest. Sadly it is a case of getting what you paid for, although to be fair to them I recently sent Zipster a package that was delivered in about 2 days but that was unlike the seats I sent to the upholster which took nearly 2 weeks!
I find them fine, I accept its a 3 - 4 day service and generally that is what it is Rates are fair and I've prob. sent 20+ parcels without issue. Given the thousands they process each day one is bound to get delayed every so often
I've never used them before, I always find Royal Mail good, at least they leave you a "We Missed You" slip, with an address where you have the option of collecting yourself. Hermes "We Missed You" tells you they'll attempt a re-delivery on...... (Date), but then don't turn up on the date they say. Oh........ And there's no address or telephone number where you can contact them on the note. Amazing Company "NOT" At least Yodle give you the option of collecting it from their local depot too................. So for me, Hermes is the worst.
Yep, Hermes are pretty crap. Had 3/4 parcels with Hermes as the courier, and never got a f****n one of them. Hermes worst point is that they have no depots that you can collect from as mentioned above. I now often inquire who the delivery couriers are if I've not had a parcel from a company before and if it's Hermes I go elsewhere. Strangely although I have lots of parcels delivered I don't think I've ever had 'yodel' delivery who are apparently equally crap to Hermes. Gotta have a bit of sympathy for the couriers, long hours, shit money.
I've never had problem with Hermes and I still use it and will use it. They are cheap. "You get what you pay for?" Maybe, but as long as my parcels get delivered I cannot complain.
always use UPS for big parcels, tried to use Herpes for smaller stuff as they are cheap, however they have a collection time of 8am -9pm I finish work at 4pm (on a good day) if the driver arrives anytime after that they don't collect the parcel and my moneys gone down the drain...no thanks
Am lucky as send via ups through work and never had a problem, if in a hurry and not at work I use royal mail special delivery
I used hermes for the first time a few weeks ago and found them to be fine. tracking online and yes took a few days but had no issues and compared to Parcel force was half the price and gave me more. IE: price if it was lost which parcel force wanted even more than the double it would have cost me anywho
iv used them mate great service there always someone that as a bad moment in all sorts of services you were just unlucky does put you of if you have a bad service
UPS without doubt the one to go to. If they can't get a signature they will deliver to a local access point(not some random neighbour), normally your local corner shop, you can then pick up pretty much any time( and buy some bevvies too while you're at it!)
DPD are my favourite. Text/email day before they are coming, then a text in the morning about 8am giving a 1 hour delivery slot with the drivers name. Can also rearrange via text as well.
