    Hi All,
Was just wondering if anybody has some tips on how to keep my orange wheels in good condition. They are pretty good at the moment but I have noticed a couple of stone chips recently. Do you, or can you get a paint to touch them up or would you take them to a specialist shop and get them to repaired.
    Cheers Jim.

Fix em yerself mate. Get the paint code or a piece of stone chipped paint and take it to a paint mixer. They will colour match it and provide you with a tin of touch up and/or an aerosol!!!

I miss my black wheel on the 600rr too :(

The Castrol Chain lube that honda recommends covers the rear wheel after first application.

The Repsol orange wheels worry me, as when I clean with a kitchen towel and grease remover like WD40 the orange can clearly be seen on the kitchen towel.

Need to keep an eye on that.

Tha past few times I have just spent ages with a sponge and soapy water as the orange coming off concerned me so much.

Yep, noticed orange on my cloths - but my thinking is:

Use it, love it, dont worry about it - then if they get real bad in a year or two - get em sprayed for what.. £100?? Its worth it to not worry.

    Yep that's the way.

Also try mr sheene instead of wd40. Gets all kinds of sh!t off Paintwork without damaging it.

This has to be the only way, you can spend £100 on fuel in a weekend now days so its fairly insignificant... just annoying.

I noticed the orange on my cloths 1st time I cleaned the bike also.
Started cleaning it with Show Room Shine from qvc have to say the stuff is dynamite used it on previous bikes and cars, tar spots etc off in two seconds, plus it leaves a carnauba wax coating never had orange residue since..

Been using swissvax on my wheels. This Swissvax UK

OK does not stop the stone chips but bloody easy to clean loads of crap off the wheels. and last ages, But not cheap for the very small container but will last some years of regular work.

By the by anyone know or can point me in the direction of the orange paint code for the wheel paint?

Repainting your wheels will only be a stopgap for you Repsol guys. Ride this year and when you decide to all hang yer leathers up for the winter, get a group buy on colour matched powder coating? Remove yer bearings n seals and get em sorted, much better than painting.

All - FYI - I looked into powder coating and whilst I managed to find the paint code for orange [Vibrant Orange YR250] - The equivalent RAL code [RAL2003] is not the same orange - I couldn't find a powder coater who could match the Honda code exactly perhaps I didn't look properly or I don't know the right people.

Some other forum members have used RAL2003 powder coating and seem happy with the result but It means your wheels will be slightly different to that as delivered from the factory.

Perhaps someone could advise if they know anyone who can exactly match the factory paint code in powder - if so they it's happy days for me as my rims will be defo off over the winter to get them done as they are a little mangled from my almax chain :-(
