Picked this up today and went for a quick run. QS works well and the standard exhaust pops and burbles all the time so not in a rush to change it just yet. It's got the limiter at 9k but it didn't take much to hit it so can't wait to get it lifted after 600 miles.
Thanks Graeme, was a joy to ride even in the rubbish conditions today. Looking forward to my finding out my lean angles which are displayed on the dash lol
fstunning, but please buy an oil and radiator protector as they are so exposed (and expensive) to replace / fix - cannot understand why they don't fit as standard. Does that model have the auto blip / downshift activated QS ? Mates call them playstation bikes (out of envy)
First thing I fit to a Bike is a Rad guard! Didn't even ride my latest new Bike for 2 days after picking it up in the Van until an Evotech Rad guard had arrived and was fitted. A new Rad for my ZX10R is best part of £500, Rad Guard is £60! Suspect a Beemer Rad would be more? No Brainer!
Lol yes I suppose they are PS bikes but I'm liking the gadgets! Yep guards are on my list, going to get the evotech one. Yes it's got the auto blipper which works very well. I forgot to put my ear plugs in and stopped in a layby to fit, as I was picking up my helmet I noticed a scratch on the tank, then another! To say I was pissed off would be an understatement!! Totally deflated me. It was right on the swedge line and in sunlight was difficult to see so I called the dealer straight away and he couldn't understand as he had looked it over. Went back and he couldn't see it either till I pointed it out, so they are fitting a new tank when he can get his hands on one as it can't be polished out. Burst my bubble but it's getting fixed.
I'd just ask for a nice discount/cash back or credit note for some servicing and cover with a Tank protector. You're guna scratch it at some point so no pint being too anal imho. A new Tank is a huge cost I'd have thought?
Not a hope! Can't live with that. In the sunlight you can't see it looking down on the tank,as it bevels over and hides it. In overcast light and bent down level its obvious.
while that is annoying, at least the dealer is replacing it - I guess he will get your one repainted, new logos and put it in store or similar things happen - at least he didn't turn round and say 'you accepted it after we had checked it over, sorry but you have scratched it, we are not paying you any money or fixing it'
Exactly, I did feel a bit of an undercurrent on the phone but when he looked at the tank he couldn't find it so he knew I wasn't "at it" They have been very good, I bought my M135 from them 6 months ago and they know I'll be back.Cant fault them.
