Since whe did the postman start delivering junk mail? I don't mean junk letters to occupier etc but leaflets. This morning I opened the door to the postman to sign for a letter when he hands me a pile of letters and a handful of leaflets and booklets 11 to be exact! The type of junk I used to have to put in the local paper as a kid. wtf
They've been doing it for years. You can opt out but you then don't get stuff from the Council/Electorial people etc if they address it to The Occupant.. Personally I go for the "find something with a freepost envelope and post it all to them" approach
I can sympathise, as I used to run the local delivery office. But, can I just say all that junk mail, addressed or unaddressed keeps many people in work. So, rather than opt out, just put it straight in the recycle bin. I managed to get a reduction on my recently signed up to BT broadband bill, because of junk mail. So it is not all bad.
I know what you mean about keeping someone in a job but that's like me encouraging my kids to litter because someone is paid to pick it up lol
Agree with that, and its not just the post men doing it... where I am we get a shed load of takeaway menus shoved through the letter box every week. There's even a local company that employs people to shove takeaway menus through peoples doors! I thought about putting a notice on the letterbox like 'The company authorizing unaddressed junk pushed through this letterbox will be charged a £50 recycling fee.' I bet that would stop 'em!
