Has anyone else noticed an electronic beep when the bike fires up sometimes? Doesn't always do it, but does quite a lot of the time. Anyone know what it is?

You can hear it on this video actually, on the second startup at about 2:15:

I've noticed this on startup since its been wintered this year. Not sure it's electronic - hopefully it is because otherwise it's gas escaping from a crack somewhere!

I have no alarm and have a tracker fitted but afaik that is silent.

Now, on the video around 30-31 seconds there is a distinct sound albeit for a very short period of time.
It's right between the engine cranking over and the first fire.

My guess, we'll I'd say it's not electronics more like a washer/pin or what ever that's vibrating as the engine turns over makes A kind of tinging sound.

I spent a while once looking for a rattling noise at the rear of the bike....

It was the washer on the paddock stand turning round with the vibration

But that doesn't answer the one at 2.15?

    Perhaps I'm hearing things :)

Maybe not a great video to use as an example... I'll find another and post back again.

I used to get a similar sound constantly on my CB1000R, and thought it was deffo electronic, if I can find them, I'll try to upload some vids.

It did this for a year though without any problems.

I thought it might have been something (electronic) to do with low voltage, as it seems to do it on mine after a couple of consecutive starts.

Deleted all my old vids on the CB1Kr (incriminating evidence:rolleyes:) but I recollect it only did it at the end of the crank just before the engine fired up.

Could it be the " exhaust Flap" tinkling just as the first gust of hot exhaust gases pass it on the way out ? Do you guys all have standard exhausts on? And is it evident on peeps bikes that have race cans/ systems on?

I can’t view the video at work so don’t know if the noise is the same or not but this weekend I did a 4 day trip to Scotland and noticed my bike making a constant electric beep / whistle after start up. Then realised that the starter button was sticking in, as soon as it released properly the beep / whistle went. Could this be the problem??

Have you found a cause for this yet? My bike was doing this at Snetterton on Monday, it was having a job to turn over too......is there some kind of low battery warning? The only other thing I had done was put a baffle in the exhaust to run there but I have done this many a time before so can't see why it would start doing it now.
