Got a problem with your Blade post it here and see if anyone can help ... I'll start!! My mate has an 02 954rr which had a PC3 installed when he bought it. It was rough at idle, and when riding it really is crap until 3000rpm when it picks up and pulls like a train. Previous owner reckons he never had it on a track, but the tyres told a different story and I reckon he messed around with the mapping. Anyway - we figured seeing as a Power Commander can't actually remap the ECU (it alters the signal the ECU sends out) if we just took the PC3 out it'd give us a standard bike back. No change however, still shite below 3000rpm and sounds like a tractor around town. Fuel regulator has been replaced, and the timing has been checked. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated Problem Solved: If anyone else has similar symptoms, this one was due to a split in the wiring loom from ECU to injectors which was causing a short and interfering with the signal from the ECU
What exhuast is it running? Also does the exhaust valve turn if still fitted could be possible reasons, also what air filter? Couple of things I would look at
Hi, thanks for the reply - not sure what make the exhaust is but it's a high side rather than a low stubby... apparently the HTEV was replaced today, and the air box is standard and hasn't had any mods done to it
Hiya - have no idea mate, not very mechanically minded I'm afraid... he has a brother-in-law who's a mechanic and has serviced the bike and checked a few things. I said I'd ask on the forum for some ideas, that's about as good as I get I'm afraid! I will put that question to them and ask though, thanks
sounds like a weak or mis firing plug to me,had it happen a few times with similat symptoms.change the plugs and see what happens.
They really don't like exhausts ! After market ones have to be the same length ,ie link pipe & can Had a 954 do the same thing , only exhaust that worked was standard or akrapovic.
Thanks chap - I'll tell them to look into that... I've got a full Yoshi on my 954 and that runs fine - the link pipe thing is very interesting
