Hi Guys, I've not been on here much lately as I've been trying to keep my mind off bikes. Some of you on here will know that I was knocked off a courtesy bike in April and broke my femur and fractured my pelvis. I have had complications with my surgery and recovery, so I haven't been able to ride this year. And now it looks like I have got to go back in for surgery again. This means it is very unlikely that I will be able to ride next year too.
    This is my predicament,
    1. I bought a brand new Blade at the start of the year (It is a HRC 2010 model first registered inMarch this year on an 11 plate) I have only done 700 miles on it. Do I sell this bike, or do I keep it????
The bike is all paid for and it doesn't owe me anything, but it has sat in my garage all year and will probably do the same next year!
    2. If I sell it do I take off all the extras and sell it as standard? And sell the extras on Ebay
    3. Do I sell it will all the extras on it?
    4. If I sell it, where is the best place to advertise it?
I have every intension of riding again, but I have got to be honest with myself. The bike is just going to de-value even more over the coming year

Or, should I just keep it as it isn't costing me anything sitting in my garage......decisions, decisions!................What would you do?

If it pains you to see it sat there? Sell it.
If it makes you smile every time you see it? Keep it.
Always think of the one day you'll be able to throw your leg over it again.
    GWS mate.

if it were me and i wanted to ride again i would hold onto it as seeing it there might give you a goal to achieve to get on it again (but only when your ready). when i have sold bikes ,forums and ebay are always good but i usually return the bike to standard as seem to get better overall price with bike seperate and add ons seperate. have you not got a biker buddy that could just do the odd short trip in summer to keep it healthy. hope your fixed up soon buddy!

Id keep it if you love it and will ride again,

If u do sell definatly take the extras off n sell em on eBay and sell the bike standard.

People won't give you extra money for bits on a bike although it may tempt them to buy it instead of another.

But with 700 miles on I don't think you'll struggle to sell, if your gonna sell it wait till the first sunny period has hit it'll de worth £500-£1000 more in the summer

Keep it. If you sell it, you'll spend the money on tarts, drugs and illicit sex and booze and a pissed up 2 weeks in Prague.

    Actually, Sell it.

I think no matter what miles it has you will loose around the same money, if you do sell it strip the bits and sell as stock as imo you will not get jack more for a loaded bike, people like to front up the cost of the bike and work on the rest later, as the blade will always be a good bike and the only way not to loose a penny is to keep it, that way you can take your time and have a ride when you feel fit as and when.. After my off's I always get back on even when in pain, I guess its my way of testing myself and my mind that said I know at times it just can not be done with some bones etc etc etc.. If in doubt mate keep it! Take your time, eat well, sleep well and get well soon.. :) Best luck to you.

    I like your thinking SI!!

I forgot to mention, before the crash I ordered a PCV and full Yoshi race system, and yes you guessed it, it turned up AFTER my crash. A pal of mine fitted them to my bike in the summer to try and cheer me up. It sounds great on my drive but I would love to hear it on full chat with the wind in my face!

    Keep it Gary.
You will only regret it if you get rid because you will lose a fortune and have to pay it all over again when you decide to get another.

aye its better to have a bike in the garage and not use it, than not have one at all, its also really difficult to sell a nearly new bike privately, people dont have the sort of money you would be looking for, they just go to dealers and get them on finance, i had this problem when i sold my gixxer 750, was only 10 months old, ended up virtually giving it away.
