Three trips out this weeks always come back along the B2177 after a trip to Loomies. Trip one a glancing blow to the head by a female pheasant. Trip two just a managed to dodge one running across the road. Today ? Bang right into left hand mirror. Pesky bloody birds.

I got hit in the visor by a pheasant riding out towards Wantage for my IAMs cross check... an odd situation having the guy assessing you fixing your visor before you set off!!! Stupid bird!!!

Probably one of the dumbest birds you'll meet?
It's something to do with their eyes not being able to judge speed.
It's the time now where feeders are being filled to encourage un shot birds to return, and rearing pens will be full of the suckers to release onto our carriage ways.

Glad you managed to edit your thread btw bit frustrating at times isn't it.

I think a shotgun is a bit harsh on the poor old Essex girls, a quick slap usually deters them.

Amazing how heavy they are............ I got a glancing blow to my helmet a few years ago and it's like someone throwing a frozen turkey at you, managed to keep the bike upright, but was lucky.

I got hit by one years ago while doing quite a high speed we'll say on a rrv blade.
    Didn't even see it,ambushed me.
Just felt something hard hit my chest, thought someone had threw something at me.Felt something on my neck.(feathers).
Managed to stop on but when I slowed down and stopped my new Fabbri screen was gone and my clocks were bust off the mounting bracket.
There were feathers stuck to the fairing stay and bits of crap on the front of my jacket.
I was sore for around three weeks.
