    Let me know what reckon...

I've done some more reading and it seems the front preload isn't as fussy ... And running higher figures can be beneficial on a road bike ...

    - provides a more softer ride to soak up bumps due to using more fork travel as less force to overcome the initial preload ...
    - helps prevent the front wheel from lifting off the ground under acceleration

I'm going to take some more measurements tomorrow night to take into consideration stiction of the forks to get a more accurate base line to work from ...

Rear is left on notch '6' just because I like how it feels but really with standard front preload coming down to '5' would make the bike a bit better balanced.

Makes sense I suppose. I need to get some road time in as I have been down the van with the family so hopefully I get chance tomorrow. I'll take off 2 turns before I get out which will mean I'm still at around 8 turns though. My rear is up on 6 too.

Try it at 8 turns then again at 6... Make notes then go back to where you originally set it...

I'm interested to know if you feel the difference ... Use a tie wrap on fork stanchion to ensure you are nowhere near bottoming out the fork.

Yeah, I know there should be about 10-15mm travel left after some heavy breaking, wheelies ( :D ) etc so there is always some travel in reserve.

But won't there be an issue with the bike being out of balance with the rear still showing 6 notches and 35mm?

Is yours still 4mm lower too?

Not really as the difference between rear preload at '6' and standard front / rear preload is only an increase in rear ride height of about 5mm ... Same as chucking a 190/55 tyre on...

No, forks are flush in yokes now. I keep experimenting lol ... The bike definitely prefers a more nose down stance over original ride height.

So your front is standard and rear slightly softer than standard Mr OCD, I'm 80kgs all in (5ft 5 inch, I know, it's an affliction) and my front rebound is 1.75 from full stiff, front comp 2 from full stiff, rear comp 1.5 from full stiff, rear rebound 2 from full stiff. It's pretty good for me and not to far from standard settings to.

Front and rear comp and rebound are pretty much standard ... For 80kg I doubt you need to change anything from standard settings tbh.

Yeah, I think we've chatted before and I said then it wasn't far from standard. the main thing for me was stiffining the rear comp a little to minimize the arse sinking on acceleration, rear shock is pants and no matter how much you adjust it you just can't get it bob on. OR maybe I'm just too picky

Saying that though, another 2" taller would be a whole new world for me.
