its that time , clocked up 5,400 miles and need new tyres. Do I go for the upgraded Bridgestone S20 Evo or Michellin pilot power 3 or Metzelerits have just brought some new models our. What's everybody using ?
Been using Michelin Pilot Power for the last few years, the new Pilot 3 is even better IMO, get good mileage out of them running 39/40 psi rear 36psi front.
Had the pilot power 2ct on the last bike , really like them. The 3 is newer version. How many miles you get out of a back 2,500 ish ?
Too early to tell yet but have just had Metzler m77rr's fitted, they replace the previous owners very flat spotted Michelin Power's, the front had plenty of life left but was wareing unevenly on the right side of the tyre so decided to replace both with a more up to date tyre.

S20 Evo is the all new jobby , don't know if it's as good as Metzelerits or Michellin . May have to start searching the net for tyre reviews
I'm running T30s as I use the Blade year round and only ride on the road. I am no Rossi but I have never found the limits of grip either in the wet or dry and mileage is excellent. Besides, if they are good enough for Ron Haslam, they are good enough for me.
sportsmarts 4500m out of rear tyres including flat out runs up the mountain at the tt.(the most i got out of any other tyre on the blade was 2300 miles) They haven't really squared off so i have just put them on my gixer 1000 track bike to finish them off ,already done a full day at oulton on them and will be on them at cadwell on tuesday for an open pit lane day too.
Ive got to recommend the Sportsmarts too ! Best tyre I've had on anything to date ! Really good milage, really grippy in the wet and the dry ! But i am probably gonna have a go on the Metz M77rr's next tho as hearing really good things about them ! To be honest, imo, in this day and age you're gonna be hard pushed to find a bad tyre ! Im a firm believer in that, apart from wear, tyres are a mental thing when you are talking about all the top ranking names... I sometime have a perfectly good tyre, then something happens in my head and i get suspicious about it and start feeling for faults and getting a bit nervous on them, then someone will say that blah blah is super grippy, i'll get a set, and push myself harder and think its better, where people are still raving about the ones i had previously... Maybe i just think too much
Aaaaaarrrgggghhhhhh too many choices , gunner have a think May go to woosters tomorrow and check some out
Thumbs up for Bridgestone S20 Evo for road and occasional track. I fitted them to both my bikes I liked them so much.
The Metzeler Sportec M7rr's are the new ones from Metz, they took over from the Sportec M5's (Interact) as there leading fast road tyre and have 20% more mileage then the M5's. Comparison between them both; http://www.metzeler.com/site/com/products/compare.html
