Greetings. Just joined this forum and by way of introduction, have been scratching (with a recent track day) on a pre-Vtec VFR for the past 7 years. A great piece of kit, but it's time for a change. But at a reasonably fit 62 years old, am I crazy to buy a Blade? All opinions are welcome.

Welcome! You're never too old. The blade is one of the most practical sports bikes ever - certainly the most comfortable of the modern sportsbikes imo.

Too Old........... Not at all, it's the easiest 1ltr sports bike to ride there is.

The problem is... You'll just wisj you'd bought one earlier, just like I did.

My dad is 70 in February and is treating himself to a blade now. Going up from a CBR600 after having a go on my blade happy days, never too old.

The Blade is a very good “old” Bike and Honda must bring a new Fireblade in 2016.

Otherwise, only the hard core Fireblade biker will stick to their Fireblade.

A new Kawa ZX10R will come out for next year and who knows what Suzuki got in their mind.

But if you like the basics with almost no electronic on board, the blade might be the right choice for you.

You should have a long test ride not only on the blade to make up your decision.
