Thats all good and well jimbo but I cant work 12 hour shifts for the rest of my life in a job I dont enjoy just for motorbikes! (Never thought id say that)
No chances are you'll do it for something far more boring like mortgages and council tax If you are going to do the change do it before you get commitments.... I chose the career path that gave best rewards.... Now I doubt I could do a job I loved as they wouldn't pay as well or keep a lifestyle...what you've never had you'll never miss buddy. Life's too short, but decide what's important to ya....
Love the money and having bikes and nice things but I don't wanna hit fifty and look back on my life and think "I've made sweets".. I wan't a job where I make a difference! Must be having a mid twenties crisis or something.
My lads in the RAF. Aircraft engineer. Best apprenticeship out - rolls Royce - now done 7 and half years and wants out. Thinking bout gas turbines on oil rigs. Don't think anyone is truly happy in their job but if you fancy a change now is the time for you to do it, no commitments ! You get one shot at life so don't live with "what ifs. ?"
Yeah I think you are lol.... On the flip side, my job is stressful and stupid long hours I sacrifice shit loads at home for. But I do some cool things and see some cool places through it... And it gives me the flexibility to do things out side of work I consider myself lucky to do, in terms of holidays and racing etc. Glass is always half full dude Some folk bust their nut just to cover the rent and put food on the table so we don't have it too bad buddy
Yeah I know mate we're lucky but we're also only here once and I'd rather have a happy life than a rich one. If I had something that was exciting as a job I wouldn't have to spend ££££s flying about on motorbikes! I'm 30 in four years and feel like if I don't do something now I will be stuck working in a factory on 12 hour shifts for the rest of my life and for what. Only asking for advice because I know I am throwing away a well paid life long job so won't be making any rash decisions. Its not a bad company at all most of my family work there just not sure if it's "me". If that makes sense?
Yeah totally... And who's said anything about being rich? I'm skint lol.... Got to do what's right for you mate, I hate my jobs at times, other times its ok, occasionally awesome.... But I just make the most of time away from work to make it worthwhile... Very few are lucky, to enjoy their job, make a difference and feel satisfied... That's why they call it work unfortunately! Ha
Services aren't bad, loved my time in the army! Would say the navy is probably the best one to go for, Ryan air and easy jet are more professional than crab air
Crab Air = RAF Reason I was told is because when they first got jets they had to come in with the nose to one side. Hence they went sideways like crabs. Now rock apes is a different story
And less "PT" .... and the only time you can spend money is when you hit port....just not much chance to ride a bike about on deck
If you're an engineer, why not become a mechanic and open your own bike shop? You'd be your own boss. Get to tinker with bikes all day.
"All day" being the operative phrase...being ex garage trade, I still know a lot of guys who work for themselves, and oh boy, do they put in some long hours to turn a decent wage.. I bet Arthur off here would attest to that.. Nice romantic notion though Rich...
To be realistic I think the only jobs that seem more exciting than blasting on the bike are stuntman to the stars or SAS ...TV is to blame for making every profession look that way but in reality they're not. I've had all sorts of jobs because I'm a life's too short person but I haven't had the responsibilities some folks have so I'd say listen to that little voice inside you, its a big fun world out there. Navy sounds great, not sure how much you'd get to ride bike?!? but you'd see the world, my cousin was a marine, learnt loads a skills, met his wife abroad and loved every minute. I know I've been joking bout fire brigade but its good wage, pension etc if you want to stay closer to home!
