Thinking of getting a set of 'Dry Break' Lines for the blade, makes it easier with calipers on & off for wheel changes. ive experienced them on full on race bikes but struggle to find them for 'normal' track & race use. Anybody here got them? Arthur?
Just spoke to Simon @ HEL, know him fairly well, he is sorting me a ready made set of dry break jobbies in red. Bling Bling.
Nice mate! The only problem and all that stopped me before is on a road bike a propper way of holding them in place, race bike is easy as they can just float to each side.. Are you having them discon at the banjo?
Arthur, im having the break around 25cms up from caliper banjo, Pricewise he is letting me know later.
Not wrong... and if you have more than one Jap bike you could "hot swap" your bling calipers from one to another....lol
I don't know what kind of deal you can get on these, I have looked at all the options before and NONE of them are cheap. To give you an idea:- Hel dash 3 coupler (male and female) ONE pair is £235.00 plus VAT The fittings and lines are aprox £80.00-£120.00 (at a guess) So 2 x £235.00 = £470.00 plus £80.00 = £550.00 plus VAT = £660.00 for the front RRP..ish... The main thing I thought about is how many times in the past have I needed to remove the calipers from the lines? Never...and if I strip them they need re bleeding anyway that I do all the time to bikes day in day out and it take me no time at all with Brembo brakes, other can be a pain.. Hence why I still dont have them on my bike.. BUT they are trick but then so they should be for the money!
I can bleed brakes in about 5 minutes per line, I do it quite often so got the knack of doing it now. I find using a vacume pump for new lines helps alot followed by a traditional bleed.
I think I have some of them in my bike shed ... not sure if I have 1 or 2 . I will take a look tomoz and post a pic
