06 - 07 Blade

Hi guys

My mate is on the lookout for a new bike and is looking at a 06 & a 07 blade at the moment.

Is there any difference between the 2 models that grant the extra cash for the 07 model? Both the bikes he is looking at have around the same milage and history.

06 and 07 are the same bike mate.

If it looks different the 06 is probably a late registered 05

 

What are they like compared to the 08 onwards blades!!!

 

as far as im aware just frame and swingarm colours repsol only availabe on 07

I thought the 07 had some internal mods to the engine done. Just shows how much I now

Honestly can't wait till he gets a blade. He currently owns a SRAD and was happy as till I gave him a go on my bike. Oops.

 

Honestly couldn't tell you Benn. I've never been on another blade other than my own.

 

Thats the 06 & 07 bikes. simmilar to 04 & 05 bike but quite a few changes.

 

I never took to them as im not a fan of the under seat exhaust however after the ZX6 I had it changed my mind a little, I think they are a really good looking bike especially after a few mods!

 

Tell him to make sure that the alternator has been replaced under warranty, some of them had a problem with rotor/stator clearances???

 

That's the 04 and early 05 bikes, they sorted the problem after that by fitting a different alternator.

 

the 06-07 models had more mid range grunt, along with a few other changes

 

I'm not sure if that's just down to the different gearing the 06&07 blades run as standard. They have +2 on the rear difference from the 04&05 blades.

 

Totally different bike mate .. 07 has under seat exhaust and is styre with a pointy nose

08 was the re design where they shifted to side slung exhaust and smoothed out the styling of the bike

 

New intake and exhaust porting (higher flow, reduced chamber volume)
Revised cam timing
More intake valve lift (from 8.9 mm to 9.1 mm)
New exhaust system
Revised front suspension
Revised rear suspension with new linkage ratios

Also, the front forks were completely different, again, internally.

 

Its actually +1, 41 to 42.

The mid range grunt was largely dur to the better cylinder head on the 07.

 

Both the 04 and 05 have had a 40 as standard.

The American bikes had 41.

 

Weird, the honda uk press release for the 05 says 41 aswell, hmm.

 

I have a 06 blade its a fantastic bike !
Great midrange torque , an handles fantastic , excellent built quality far better than the GSXR s I have had . Its a very smooth refined quality bike .
Do the flapper valve mod , fit a race can an filter , and a power commander . Get the suspension set up . The 2006 / 2007 blades are very diffrent to the 2004 / 2005 blades . Go for a 06 or 07
as they are the same

 

Dan I should of posed my question better, I know the physical differences I was wondering what the difference is like to rode I.e power mid range, handling etc!?
