Well that makes my decision easier then. Can't believe Honda have waited so long. I'm patient but not that patient.
I can see what you mean about the headlights being Marmite....... They spoil the whole bike, should have stuck with the 2012 style lights. Oh..... and the exhaust must be one of the ugliest production exhausts out there. Other than that.......... One hell of a bike.
The R1 is definitely more suited to track. It's very firm for the road and for anyone who's tried the MT09 it shares the same jerky throttle response when cracking open, could make for smooth road riding a problem but sure you'd adapt to it. The electronics are great, never thought I'd say that. Still think the Blade is a better road bike/all rounder but it's feeling a bit dated now amongst it's competition. Typical Yam gear box bit harsh but on track or fast road you'd not notice and the QS works a treat. Bike shook it's head a couple of times but felt composed, very fast, light, nimble it is fantastic I really like it. On another level but for 15K and all new tech you'd hope it was. Anyone get the chance to ride one, think you'll be very very tempted. Dean Harrison made it all look very easy and reckon this years race results will back up Yam's hard work.
Somehow I am not surprised. Disappointed yes, surprised no. Mind you if they bring out the Hover Blade I will forgive them
Agree with the exhaust! But they have to get through emissions Disagree about the lights I reckon they look cool, especially the running lights
Read a bit in a bike mag today which basically said the importers decide which colours to bring in to each market. UK or Euro importers decided not to do the black one whilst the US did. Hopefully next year they will change their decision, but if push came to shove it does mean that pucker gen black fairings would be available, albeit via importing.
