Morning fella's During my build over the winter i did away with the standard rear brake reservoir and stuck on one of them HRC little tube things. I also stuck in an Armstrong rear disc in the hopes of getting some kind of stoppage from the rear... I spent ages messing around trying to bleed it and didn't really get any joy and didn't feel like was doing much... I had ago again the other day and noticed it was a bit wet and was seeping a little at the base of the tube, so i tightened it all right up to the max, and tried bleeding it again which it a mission as the tube has sod all capacity i have to keep topping it up after ever pump with a syringe. Had another go yesterday too and still not getting any useful pressure out of it ! What am i doing wrong ? Everything seems to be tight and torqued up and no obvious leeks... Is there a knack I'm missing ? I don't expect it to be like a proper brake or lock up, but just enough to stop me flipping if the odd wheelie happens ya know...
Yes mine leaked at the bottom jubilee clip too. I think mine was because it was fitted on the plastic tab so never made a good seal. I am also replacing the HRC tube with a tygon tube as it goes cloudy.
Blackness bleed with origional resivoir makes life much easier then replace tube,in all fact u don't need a tube it's cosmetic because the fluid in the master cylinder is enough after bleed but it allows for expansion when rear brake is activated
I had some thing similar and just used a new piece of tube.. Stopped the 'damp patch' As for bleeding.. I bought a cheap £20 vacuum bleeder off eBay.. Brakes are so easy to bleed with this thing.. Let me find the link
Nice one bro ! Just ordered that bugger too Anyone got a few inches of this Tygon tubing while I'm at it ?
Im sure I've got enough to keep replacing it a few times too anyway, as i only cut a bit off to put on the mc !
