Back him up, Bry. He's your mate and he's just looked through the scary door. Once he's come down a bit, then start twisting his arm a bit.

Sounds like a serious excursion. I think I'd have second thoughts for while too.

Hes bust his elbow and his back and his knee......hoping when he mends he will feel differently about it.....think whats upset him the most is the money he's spent on bike. He's only third party so a claim is out the window.....

With those injuries mate, he ain't getting back on a bike for a fair while. If it were me, I'd be feeling similar to him at the moment. Hope he mends well.

Pretty sure Kpone hit the nail with his first comment, things have to be put into perspective. Not knowing your mate or personal circumstances and in no way criticising your post but........
First things first, he got away with it, with some injuries true, which may hamper the turkey dinner and present opening this year?
His gift from Santa this year is the fact he didn't go head to head with something traveling in the opposite direction or very hard.
Over time He will repair and so will the bike? I guess seeing as he's only insured 3rd party it's either scrap or repair, once he's calmed down and got over the shock of swerving the grim reaper for another day he may see things in a different light, shit how many times have we all nearly quit something because we cocked it up and it bit us in the arse.
Give him time mate, and show him a bit of compassion but don't make him feel bad because you've some trips booked together next year, wouldn't even mention them, yeah a bit of pi££ taking about your gear he's totalled
    Support him all you can,

    He'll come round.
And we are always up for a weekend in Blackpool ;)
And tell him to GWS. :)

He's still raw and so are his injuries - given time he will bounce back - I've been there as I'm sure many members have............. Please pardon the puns!

Hope he gets back on his feet soon, a bad situation to be in but it could have been worse - that's probably what's on his mind. Time is a great healer and support from forums helps too!

I was smashed up a few years back and had to sleep upright for about three months I was soooo badly injured ... NO MORE I thought .. thats it .. never again .

But as the bones mended and the bruises faded I remembered how much riding meant to me . Then this cheque arrived on my doorstep and I thought ........ just perhaps
I could get another scoot . 2 weeks later I was riding around on a 1200 Bandit . So just maybe there might be a similar ending to this story too
