I'm a bit stuck on the target AFR's to go for when I get the Z-AFM on the bazzaz Can anyone give me an idea what I need to aim for? 13 - 13.2? I have seen some peoples maps online and they go for different targets at different throttle positions like 13.5 at say 20% but by the time they are at 80% they are going for 12.8 Can anyone explain why they do this so I have a basic understanding of what's going on please
Essentially 12.8 generally provides the best throttle response and power where 13.2 the best economy without a detrimental effect on performance. So you would have 12.8 in the fun zones and leaner AFRs where you tend to cruise
Ah so say, as I'm rolling on the throttle mid corner a 13.2 would be smooth, then as I sit up and open the throttle 12.8 would give me more power? Anyone have a AFR map I can have a look at?
Read this its for an Autotune but the AFRs work the same. Reading it again 12.8 sounds a bit rich, the range should be around 13.2- 13.8. http://www.hondacb1000r.com/forums/dynojet-uk/8931-how-autotune.html#post115755
Would an auto tune do away with the need for a custom map? Or best to start auto tune after custom map?
I just down loaded a generic map to start and used the auto tune from there... always been fine for me
Yep 12.3... had the same dilemma when I first got mine so rang a dyno place and he told me to use the compression ratio. Give a dyno place a ring if you have any doubts and I'm sure they'll point you in the right direction
depends of the bike, every motor is different. Blade need to be a little rich to be powerful.under 13
