I'm sure between HMRC and the couriers a lot of the fees are unjustified. Let's just say I'm sure the Christmas Party box is always well topped up.

I'm off to San Francisco next month so will be keeping an eye open for anything I need and bringing it back with me. Anything to declare Sir? Urmmm, no thank you.

Let's just say it's a work trip so although I have nothing planned to buy, if I do need something I won't be paying the excess baggage fees. Although I think a fairing may be pushing it a little ;)

ive never been stung by them. Every thing I get is always marked down to $100 tops thats 5 full systems 6 power commanders along with loads of other items. I think it usually costs me arround £24 at customs which is reasonable.

Also £47 for postage sounds hugely over priced as well ive never paid that much even for a full system and there is some serious size and weight difference there

Dude, i feel your pain... Bastards got me good 3 times this year already and it doesn't make sense of how they charge either !
First, Ohlins from America, about £700 i paid for them including postage, £77 customs charged me.. Next, £400 for fairing from China, £74 paid in customs charges.. This week, Goldwing carbs from America, £150, Customs charge me £64 o_O ! Bit of a difference in prices for the items but not a lot of difference between the customs charges !?!?!?
Plus the fact that on the last order from america i paid loads for a UPS express delivery and got to England in 3 days, but held up with customs for a further 4 days more, then 2 more for them to actually get them to my local depot for collection, where i have to then pay feckin parcel force for a "handling charge" too ! Way too many "WTF" moments for my liking
