Do you want to sell the downpipes? Oh I borrowed the vernier calipers from work last night, Will get them measurements for you sometime this weekend for the baffles.
Yes I do mate, I'll get some pix for you , in case they're scratched. Can dig the marix outta the cat for less restriction. It worked on Masterbladers 04. How much are they worth to you?
Here's some pix of the system I have. There is one small dent in a hard to see place on one of the headers. Masterblader has an 04 zorst on his, but he dug out the cat matrix and runs it as a straight through with the empty box still in place. Here's the intact matrix; It may be possible to cut out the box and replace it with a straight through 304 stainless pipe if that's what you'd prefer?
Are those two more cats in lower section, I've never looked into one with a scope but I bet they are..?
I've also got a set of standard headers from my 06 available, they'd only done 1500 miles when I replaced them with a standard set from the US minus the cat.
Never had it apart Arthur, but I don't think so. Think they are short baffles with a peforated tube inside the outer skin, to do a little bit of silencing???
Yeah maybe, wow Rays are yet another type, they do not have the mystery tube/baffel/cat's? did not know the US had a no cat ver! I have seen the headers with one fat tube, two tubes and now none....lol If my bore scope is long enough I may look into a system and see what it is!
My 06 has the US headers, they say it spins up quicker but dont boast any bhp gains, personally it appears to spin up fairly quick compared to stock.
I had considered having a decat tube fitted as an alternative to getting a full straight through system.I can't remember where I read about it, but someone else had been thinking of doing this on another Blade forum. But someone told them that there was a restriction (cant remember exactly what) in each of the headerpipes which cut down the flow of gases, thus it was not a solution to his problem. I do not know how accurate this was but it seemed to be from someone who was knowledgeable. It was either there to meet noise regs or gas emissions.
Wow dude. I would be happy with either option. I will measure my outlet on the end can for the baffles tomorrow and pm you.
I'm pretty sure as long as you get a set from any state apart from California they don't come with a cat/any restriction.
Seen those little baffles in other standard systems, Masterblader knows about them. Aftermarket systems don't use em, so I don't think they improve performance, just reduce noise. The cat is a major restriction, which should be got rid of by us environmentally unfriendlies???
