I'm starting to get worried about my AR can. Measured 116 DB at Castle Coombe with a "cheat" baffle. Mind you that's at 9750 RPM. Am I right in saying that normal testing at other tracks is 5500 RPM? I know not very accurate but I downloaded a phone app and the pipe is louder on idle than 3000 RPM? AR are adamant that it's 102 DB at 5500 with the baffle. I'll just have to wait and see on the 19th.
The AR can won't pass any circuit if it's 116db. I'd get shot of it and buy a proper system tbh. Never understood the obsession with there stuff tbh
Mmmmm, that's what I am thinking. I only went for it as out of all the pipes I was looking at it had the lowest claimed DB but from my recent experience at CC I'm not so sure though they do test as double the revs of anywhere else. Any recommendations on a slip on that will pass TD noise tests?
Tbh mate, any slip on would pass. Personally I'd go for any Arrow product over anything else. Go for Ti too. Check these two Akro cans we blew up at Le Mans. We actually went through 3 in the end. The 3 were brand new when we started
Wow akro are meant to be the best. I use mhp exhausts and have been the best for the cheapest I have used
MHP are mega. Really good value for money. I used an MHP full it system on my S1000RR for a while. Made massive power
Looks great Russ, I would put some of that tape on the wheels too, I reckon that will finish it off nicely
I just ordered a pair of these for the tank http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161004117317?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT Austin Racing emailed may this morning and pretty much guaranteed a pass on a 105db day - they are also making me a link pipe insert just in case. I'm still thinking of another quieter exhaust to enable access to a greater range of events. Are you only planning on 105db days with your system?
Looks fantastic , I'm shit at the pinstripe tape that's why I haven't used any . Got mine back from JHS on Friday, she is ready now. I have ran out of money to spend on it so anything else will have to wait. Does anyone know what db's a GPR can knocks out ?
Nice.....mine looks rather tatty against you two Kingfixer - where abouts in Brizzle are you? I'm up near Cribbs. I'm booked in at Donnington on the 19th if you fancy it.
Be worth seeing what AR can do for you. The Arrow system I have came with two baffles. I'll stick either one of them in on the quieter days. It's amazing how much a baffle can restrict power. Really noticed it in my BM :-(
AR are pretty good, I have had a few slip ons off them and I know they have made customers extra baffles etc. they are a bit loud though
you get 2 maps with the bazzaz so I had it done with baffle in and out, JHS said with baffle in it killed the BHP the bike knocked out.
So had the bike out for a test last Friday at Snett. The bike handles superbly, however felt quite flat with very little midrange torque. I'll get the bike on the Dyno for some mapping soon, hopefully that will sort the lack of punch from the motor. Anyway, hears a pic from the day. Considering I've not ridden on circuit in 2 yrs, I didn't do too bad & was pretty much on the pace from the off, which speaks volumes about how good the Blade is as a package. Can't wait to get out again soon
