over the weekend I had the opportunity to ride an S100rr and loved the way it effortly turned into a corner. Getting back onto my steed I realised how badly my RR5 turned into corners. So lazy and required alot of effort. So after discussions tyres came up a possible reason. Running bridgestone Battalax 023 190/50/17 i was told this was/could be one of the reasons. Having read across the forum it is clear that a 55 will make a difference so I narrowed down my choice to pirelli or Metzler M7 rr. The problem with pirelli there are many possibilities and dont know which would be the correct one. am i after Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP, Diablo Ross0, Diablo Rosso Corsa 2, Angel ST or GT. I am a Sunday rider, with a trackday booked in June at silverstone (yippeee) and planning on doing a Euro trip (very unlikely, but a man can dream). Any ideas on the best/correct choice will be a big help.
For decent mileage and grip I've found the Metzeller M7RR's to be brilliant. Did a tour of Spain and still have plenty left. Best tyre I've ever used and will order another set when done.
I haven't used the Metzelers, but I use the Pirellis on road and track and can say the Rosso Corsas heat up quick and are great in the corners loads of grip although not that great in the wet.
Metzeller will be a better all round tyre and last longer. As said I can't fault them. It's down to what you want to stick on your bike
I think all rounder would be better, the cornering is my priority and from what I can tell the size matters. how do my current tyres fair against the metzler or perillis?
No Tyre change will transform your old RR5 in to a sweet steering Beemer! PR4's for a road going bike unless U are top of the Fast group.
Tyre Tec coming in at £200 and tyre leader coming in at £196, so tyre leader still ahead of the game. only just. I have had the suspension set up by alpha suspension last year. So thats in place. The beema is a 5 years younger so cant expect the same but small improvements will go a long way. or i could just sell up and buy a panigale 899.lol but that is over complicating matters
I use pr4's on the road..... If only I was top of the fast group The new metzeler RR's are incredible on track. K3 on the road would be sticky as shite... Not sure on wear though Will def try the new m7 though on the old T, as col really liked them in Spain and wore well
i don't think there is a bad word out there on the Metzeler, a friend has a blade with Rosso's on so i am going to take that for a quick spin. But Metzeler sounds like it is covering all bases.
