Yeah.... you can't. The bolt is welded in. Only took me two and a half hours, cut hands, lots of swearing and shouting and nearly a damaged carbon end cap to find out!
I had a road legal akrapovic and no problem taking the baffle out, just pull out rubber bung and undo Allen bolt
Defo not on mine unfortunately... It's a 8mm bolt (rather than allen bolt) on mine which for starters meant that the hole in the carbon end cap had to be enlarged just to fit a socket in there, and then on closer inspection you can see that the bolt has been spot welded to the metal of the can in two places. Suffice to say, it didn't budge when I did get a socket on to it. Would have taken a photo only I was too pissed off by that point!
Dremel the hole just a little and a thin walled socket fits. The weld breaks no broblem when you turn the bolt open.
Mine came out no bother as you described and it was e marked road legal, just managed to get a socket in 8mm I think to mind the weld was on the nut end ,
I did get a socket on there in the end (8mm), though it seemed to slip straight off the bolt end as if the edges had been rounded. I gave up shortly thereafter not wanting to completely balls up the carbon end cap. Though Charger, why'd you have to go and post something like that (that the weld breaks easily) - I want to give it a go again now!!
Useless home mechanic 1 - 0 Titanium baffle bolt Managed to get the fecker out today at the third time of trying, this time using a little more than just gentle persuasion, i.e. an impact driver. Didn't think it has worked at first but persistence pays off it seems! So glad I did manage it too - the 'blade has got her voice back again! Sounds very deep and throaty now, with some nice little burbles on the overrun, and crucially (for me) a solid idle (at last!).
