Can I fit a PCIII with a zero map until I can get it set up?

    As per the title, I am looking at maybe getting the standard bike mapped to optimise the fueling for the standard exhaust.Can I set a zero map or something similar so at least I can install it and the cost when I get it to the dyno will just be dyno time?

    Does anyone have a standard map for a PCIII or something which has already been optimised?

    There are plenty of maps that you can download from their website........ Just put in the bike details, check PCIII and download the one you want, I'm sure there will be a standard map there.

    What year is your blade ???

    Make sure you download the European map, not a USA one. The European (UK) maps all end in a three figure number, beginning with 5.

    Ie : 132 - 507 - European Model - Leo Vince

    I think the map you want is 132 - 501 (Assuming your bike is a 2008 - 2011 Blade) : European Model, Stock Exhaust, Stock or Aftermarket Air Filter, Dynojet 02 Eliminator fitted.

    It's available on their web site, free to download.

    you could run a zero map without the eliminator, the PCIII will be attached but essentially be doing nothing so your bike will be running stock.

    But "personally" I would run it with the eliminator and the 02 Sensor removed and replaced with a Sensor blanking plug.

    agree, I ran stock for about 2 years with a PCV and stock map and It ran great.
    Don't forget you could just convert a PCV map

    Cheers guys, that was my concern, using a PCIII which is no longer supported in the UK at least.

    Can you fit the O2 eliminator with the PCIII then? What issue will I have using the original O2 sensor then?

    The PCIII will not work correctly without the eliminator. If the sensor is not eliminated they will both be 'fighting' each other to adjust the AFR, just for an illustration during closed loop fuelling the O2 sensor will be trying to get to 14.7 and the PC adding/removing fuel to get to 13.2.

    Cheers. How does this connect then? I noticed on the US site they're only around $20.

    Where can I purchase the eliminator and the O2 blanking plug?

    Is this a PCV map then or a PCIII? How can you convert them?

    Right, just spoke to Dynojet UK who advised (as per above) to visit power commander.com and put the bike in as an 08 as they were PCIII and 09 was PCV, and look for the map ending with 501.
    O2 eliminator also ordered for £16 plus vat :D

    got my eliminator from Ebay, the seller was in Greece cant remember the price but it was only slightly cheaper than retail in the UK.

    It fits to a connector under the tank on the left side, can do it without removing the tank, but if your fitting the PCIII anyway......

    You could open the PCV map in the new software then select/copy the map then paste into the PCIII software

    Would there be any advantages of using converted PCV maps over downloading the original PCIII from the link above?

    Cheers for all the advice by the way.

    Just found Redline Superbikes on eBay do the eliminator and blanking plug for £14.........doh! :D

    most deffo, I disconnected the exhaust flapper and run the standard map, very smooth delivery. I mainly commute and the low throttle delivery was impeccable. Still returned over 42mpg

    Was happy enough to run OEM for over 2 years, only changed to a slip because the OEM can disintegrated into rust.

    if the PCV and PCIII maps have the same fuelling trims then no not really. If there is a map available for the PCIII then it would be easier to use it. Its only just there may be a custom map in PCV format available.

    My mate has his own Dyno business so I'll stick in the stock map then get him to do a power run. IF he thinks it needs tweaking then a custom map is only £150 and a power run about £25.

    Just looked at the install instructions. Seems simple enough. I installed one on my K5 Gixer before so it should be fine.

    just checked the PCIII map (M132-501.djm) for the OEM can is exactly the same as the PCV one(M16-002-501.pvm) I used and was very happy with.
