Hi people I am Steve and am in Cambridge. Been riding bikes on and off for 20 years, recently upgraded to a 2010 blade from a 99 blade and not long before that from a CBR600, kinda like my Honda's as they rarely seem to break on me My blade is pretty much stock, in 2010 HRC scheme with blue hugger and red seat cowl. Not sure how you lot get on with yours, but mine frightens then crap out of me every time I open it up, just never been on anything that eats the road up like they do. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I am still very cautious of it, especially after last week when I got caught out in the wet and nearly lost it! I am also building a 1981 CB750 Café racer bike at the moment, still in the early stages, lots and lots of work to do on it, but it will get there I am sure. Joined the forum as it seemed friendly and had some very helpful posts in it.
Thanks for the welcome, its a pleasure to be here. Hopefully as time goes on I will be able to help someone with something, at least I hope I will. I will get an updated avatar picture at some point, but for now, it will have to do, lol
Welcome to the forum mate, get some pics up quick of the bikes before the forum police start moaning lol
Either I am thick, which is indeed possible, some would say very probable, or am I missing something that has happened on here previously
I am sure when I get some nice weather I will bung some pictures up, just be nice to get a sunny day to take some
I am using Bridgestone BT016's as that's what the bike came with and they were both new tyres, they had about 200 miles on them when it slipped, and I wasn't giving it beans really.
I had bt 016 on my 600RR and was never that keen on them in cold or wet, good once they were hot. I'm using metzeler m7rr and they warm up fast and inspire confidence. Another tyre that gets rated well on the forum is the Michelin pilot road 4. Both these tyres are excellent in the wet and will perform great on the blade in all other conditions.
Started a new thread for the tyres here http://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/tyres-for-your-blade.25600/#post-371238 Thanks for the info, we shall see what comes back on that thread if anything. Thank you all for your welcome, its appreciated
Didn't want to make a separate post of it, so here is my birthday cake from a couple of months ago, quite fitting I thought
