When I bought this about 18mths ago, no mention was given this would not fit a std setup... Now they put a disclaimer on it, after a load of complaints I suspect. The trusty Dremel can overcome the issue, plus 2 washers you can see on caliper mounts. Since been replaced by alloy ones. Hope it helps those thinking of going the same route.
Whose been shopping at Bike Torque then, niice setup that? I thought I had problems!! Will measure that for you, but I do know some non std discs are not exactly the same dims as OE. You can see the unswept tips of my Braking disc? Well that was the std caliper & mount causing that, the HPK sweeps it all, being a larger radius mount. The CZ looks bigger still.
Cheers mate, Ive got the Brembo on its way, the CZ mount just does not measure up right... So more waiting.....lol.. Yeah I like my brakes and wheels...bit like you mate.. Nice bike you have!!!
Nice one, at least you didnt buy CZ wheels! Yes, a right sucker for trickery, me. I'll give you chuckle soon enough with pics of my Gixer & ZRX, lol!
You say that like there is something wrong with their wheels ... do you know something or just an aesthetic thing
They had lots of problems with QC when they started production, cant remember which Yank site I read the threads on, 1000RR.net I think, but a lot of unhappy people were slagging them. They must be sorted by now tho, you would think.
Well after two months and three types of mount I ended up with the Brembo HPK mount but as said from Evo a small mod here and there and its all done the lock wire is just in case they come undone and they do and the pipe is to stop the wire cutting into the caliper. All aftermarket wheels are slightly different in the respect of hub offset hence why this one does not need the spacers to center the caliper, also a quick trim on the sliding rail mount and we are all go.. Front offest of the OZ wheels is not the same as BST's or March... so mods are needed to the spacer rings for the T Drive discs but thats another story. This mount is 85mm x 84mm running a 220mm disc.. (note I do not think you can run any underslug mounts with OEM wheels so if buying double check as I think they hit the spokes and hub, also the OEM 84mm Brembo calipers need modding to work with this setup, one last thing race HPK calipers are 64..) Had to drill and tap the swing arm to run the line under the arm with two P clips and some SS m5 round head allen bolts.
Nice one Nutty, its taken a while as NO one seems to know much about the little things. Lemick Racing in the USA helped me out with the kit as I got it from him but it was with the CZ mount, they were not interested in helping so he lumped the cost of the HPK mount, funny thing is I could have got one from just up the road but not as cheap, saved around 100.00 even over UK trade price..
I have been watching your endeavours trying to get your rear mount perfected ;/ Especially as I am going down the same route with the CZ / HPK
There are some other mounts on ebay for around 70 quid but they sugest that they are up too a 240 mm disc, you could run that with a oem 1098 caliper from ebay for another 50 and you would have a cheap underslung mount, dont know any of the details of this and that but if I were doing it again then it has to be worth a look.
This is the mount Dan, this ones ended but email him or see other items. eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace Any 848/1098/1198/D16 rear caliper will fit they sell on ebay from 50quid s/h or 100.00 new you will need a Hel line made up but no problem, I do not know anything else other than you may need to mill some of the caliper but I am not sure depends on the wheels???
