Been given a virtually brand new 20 litre jerry can from a mate who had it to store disel. What's the best way to clean it to use for petrol? Checked t'internet but non the wiser
you need to rinse it out with petrol a couple of times - doesnt take a lot of petrol then if u can leave the can with the lid open/off for a day and u are good to go
Trouble with Jerry cans its now illigal to fill them at your petrol station, 10l storage is maximum you can fill. that said to clean it just swill some petrol around in it then use in a petrol car, the small residue of diesel wont make any odds when diluted in a 50l tank.
Really? I Brimmed only last week my 20Ltr jerry can to fill up the blade while in storage How long has this been illegal? I've filled up about 5 jerry can's in the past 6 months for TD's, for the kit car etc... without a issue
Its been law for a while, however its all down to having a sensible filling attendant, all mine in louth are anal barstewards and i cant fill my 20l td jerrycan in one go.
I filled up my 20ltr jerry last week no problems but what i do is draw up in the car and go to a (pay at pump) pump the one that takes your debit card! Fill up and drive away! Easy Peesy
I didn't know either. Just have a look here thought for the storage of said cans boring reading throughout but some good info? http://www.bedford.gov.uk/environme...9249e7-dcdb-40d6-946b-5bad25d564a0&version=-1
