I will keep this short, I know there are a billion tyre questions on here so sorry, really want to know Diablo Rosso Corsa or Supercorsa SP? I have the OEM Dunlop Qualifier II on my bike which are ok but could be better and don't inspire me with confidence, I've done about 600 miles on them. Anyway, I am going to Snetterton next week, and really want the best from my bike, I only ride it when the sun shines or if I get caught out in the rain. I am not bothered by mileage, and rather have confidence and stickiness.... saying that I am not a ridiculous fast rider, but always learning and wanting to get faster, lean further etc. So sunny road riding, ( and to work now and again ) and wanting to improve on track riding. So I debated... M7RR or S20 evo, and thought I have had S20 evo before and they were great but squiggled a bit once or twice. So thought try something new based on press reviews...... Diablo Rosso Corsa or Supercorsa SP? Anyone used both?
I've used both, supercorsa is an amazing tyre but had trouble getting it warm enough on an April track day lots of shearing of the tyre under power as it simply wasn't hot enough on the cold track. Plus they wear very quick.. Diablo corsa almost as sticky but wears much better and more suited to road riding as warms up quicker imo. Supercorsa is a great road tyre but wear is terrible, don't expect more than 2k miles per rear. I also found front wears as quick as the rear so makes tyres an expensive business! Rosso corsa two fronts to a rear much more wallet friendly and 98% as good
I use the Supercorsa's on my track bike, they wore reasonably well on my old Trumpet 600, but I've only done one track day with the new ones on the Blade so far. I'll let you know what they're like after Cadwell on 22nd Never used Rosso Corsa, but have you thought of Pirelli Dragon supercorsa pro. Used these as a road tyre before they do warm up quick and get sticky on on a hot day.
Tyres can be a personal thing. Unless your a track day god I'd go for the Rosso Corsa. Just give em ample time to warm up and get the pressure set right. That is almost as important as the tyre itself.
I asked myself this same question only a couple months ago, I will be doing track days with the odd road ride only on sunny days so went with the supercorsa
Rosso corsa For me, warm quickly, stick like glue, okay if you get caught in a shower, decent mileage, .... What's not to like. ... Tyreleader have some rears at £72 delivered 4 year old tho.
Rossi! I meant rosso but that was quite good for apple's predictive text, even my iPad is a Rossi fan!
Think I'm gonna go Corsa rosso next, I'm used to the Corsa 3's great tyre and I believe they been replaced by Corsa rosso's
To throw a spanner in the works.... Was just reading that the Metzeler M7RR is the "new" Diablo Rosso Corsa being Pirelli / Metzeler the same company expect Italy / Germany.... Is this bollocks? I thought I had it decided! 55 profile DRC but now..... M7RR.....????? What do you think?
Either Or! You'll not feel a difference at your level and I'd go with whatever's cheapest, which'll be the DRC as the Racetec is a control tyre in a few Race Series this year so is in high demand.
Supercorsa great for the track, Rosso for the road. Mate was running supercorsas on a wet track day, they spun up in a straight line in most gears - no groove along the centre of the tyre! Metzeler and Pirelli same company, M7's meant to be good but as Sinewave said, go for the cheaper option as mere mortals won't notice the difference.
I've just used Tyre Leader to buy my Pilots, cheaper than anywhere else I could find and arrived in decent time. I ordered late on Thursday 28 May and they were delivered yesterday, with full tracking along the way. I'd recommend them.
I just ordered some from else where and my mate told me about them, gotta saved a few £ but I know for next time lol
Had super corsas on mine, nice tyre, but today had the metzeler m7's put on, £40 cheaper than the Pirelli fitted, Heard good things about them. Now just to scrub em in
M7 are the best sport during tire you can buy now. For a lot more sporty, try the Racetec RR K3, i ll stick with them for now
