Ok..... Now it's my turn to ask for a little advice.

Fitted my PCV (16-034) to my 2015 bike, and was going to run a map for European - stock exhaust and Filter : 16 - 034 - 501. (Until I get my RaceFit fitted and Mapped) and not wanting it to run lean.

But when I open this map its for a "2012 bike"..... ! ! ! which is not the same as the later 2014/2015 bikes.

Having fitted my 02 Eliminater and downloaded this map, my engine warning light gave me eight flashes every few seconds, even with the 02 Eliminator fitted. So I instantly deleted this map.

So I then downloaded their Zero Map 16 - 34 - 00, which should just let power run through the PCV but make no changes to the stock fuelling.

My question is, should I still use the 02 Eliminator using the Zero Map..... ???

Power Commander web site appears to have no maps available for the 2014/2015 bikes on the PVC. Even though you put in 2015 in their search filter for maps, once you open them, they're for 2012 bikes.

I just want something safe to run around on for a week until I put my racefit back on and get it mapped.

Or does someone have a map for a 2014/2015 bike for the PCV with a free flowing exhaust similar to the RaceFit, that I could use safely till I get it mapped.

    .

Dynojet UK sent me out a map nearest to my set up, I can try and email that over to you. It's for 14 plate with car and k&n and 02 eliminate

That would be great, is that with stock exhaust or aftermarket ???? As some of you will be aware, the 2014/2015 bikes have a totally different exhaust system, the cat is no long in the silencer but in the down pipe, so fitting an aftermarket slip on still leaves the cat in place, hence the different maps to pre 2014 bikes.

That would be fine as a base map for me (What Exhaust ??? and did you leave your cat in place ???), if you'd be willing to email it to me, that would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards Jim

Is your bike running OK now, 8 blinks is related to TPS issues

Just downloaded "Cbrjays" map and also fitted the racefit, no more engine lights coming up.

Checked the map and most of the fuelling is increases until about 7k rpm, so I'm happy that this will be a safe base map to run around on this week, as she's booked in for a mapping session next Friday.

So.... RaceFit Black Edition fitted, PCV Fitted and 02 Eliminator fitted.

All looking good, but I haven't taken the bike for a run yet, but tomorrow looks good. Will keep the rpm's sensible until after it's been mapped.

It's very confusing of Powercommander to put 2012 maps into their map list when you've done a search using their system for a 2015 bike. It's not until you open the maps that you see they're listed as 2012 bikes, think this probably threw up the engine light. Just as well I noticed it straight away.

    I've just emailed you Jim.

When I asked for map, I asked for 2014 with slip on can, k&n and no 02 eliminator but I think when I read the notes at bottom it said, slip on k&n no cat and 02 eliminator fitted but as you said ours have cat.

Might be worth checking, mines seems to run ok with the map they sent

    Hi

Just checked it and it says "Decat Baffle Removed" which as far as I know on an Akro, this means that the baffle is removed from the end of the can. Which if anything will mean it's a closer map for my straight through RaceFit Black Edition.

Here's a youtube video of the Decat Baffle Removed from an Akropovic, I'm pretty sure this is what the map is referring too..

It's running more fuel that stock all the way up to 7k rpm, so i'm sure it'll be safe to ride to the dyno, i'd rather have it running rich for ten miles than running lean.

Many Thanks, it's certainly better than anything I could find on the PowerCommander web site.

I had my PC5 fitted by Richard at Dynojet themselves at Preston, it runs beautifully and has a custom map done as well, Richard did try and explain what he did and how the bike was running and what he changed..... just all white noise to me !! Went totally over my head, all i know is the bike runs so much better than before so i am happy.

LOL.... Any numbers above zero is where fuel has been added, in percentage.

Any numbers preceded by a minus - means fuelling has been reduced.

I'll be happy once it's mapped just to have the correct air to fuel ratio correct, then hopefully I'll get a little over stock bhp and torque, that'll satisfy me.

Well it may not be of use as i don't have a CBR1000RR but the naked half brother.... CB1000RA. I was having issues with surging at a constant throttle and it running rough, i have an Ixil exhaust with the cat still in place, for me it was a really good mod and one i have felt genuine positive change. I am lucky enough to live close enough to preston, i did visit a local dealer and asked about a PC5 being fitted (he did have all the posters on the wall !), i did lose some confidence when he spotted my bike outside and asked ........ what is that ?, when i told him he just looked blank but he lost the sale with his next comment '' I have never seen one before but I will give it a go '' !!!

You have made the right choice with Richard , he knows his stuff.
