So I bought a sprocket several months back.. All cleaned and fitted - I had a 42T new one was 44T. Does this mean I loose low end acceleration? What is the standard that comes with the bike? Thanks
42 is standard 44 tooth means you'll run out of gears quicker and end up with a slower top end to the tune of 8-10 mph. It'll be sharper off the mark though.
Thanks, should i change the front? I have a speedo healer thing, just need to figure out how to fit it..
If you change the front, going down 1 tooth in the front is equivalent of going up 2.8 in the rear. So if you go down at the front too it'll be feckin mental. Speedo healer is easy, just unplug the sensor which goes to the speedo (on the Gixer it was directly under the tank coming out of the top of the gearbox if I remember correctly), plug one side into the plug coming out of the gearbox and the other end into the cable you've just removed. The SH website shown the offset you need to input to give the correct figure but you can do it with a GPS signal like from a sat nav and manually input the details.
