No, its not the next trend in vacuous Saturday night entertainment, sadly i spanked my blade this morning on black ice Firstly, i'm fine which is good, bit of a bashed up arm but just scrapes and bruises. The bikes not too bad either, thanks to my Chinese fairing purchase i dodged a hefty bill from Mr Honda. How did it happen i hear you cry? Silly really, I felt the back and was a bit vague but it appeared the road was just damp so continued with caution. However turning into a right hand bend and the back started to give out to the left, i corrected it and it then went back right, it flicked back left again but too late.. the back overtook the front and i was sliding down the road on my ass trying to stop the bike from hitting me! Damage list: Yoshi slip R/H Gilles rear set R/H engine casing R/H fairings (have originals) R/H bar end (Accossato MC seems fine - no scrapes at all) R/H Mirror scraped up R/H fork - tiny graze. I'm only going to bother fixing the rear set for now as the rest is all functional. Take care out there boys and girls, it could have been a lot worse. Big Love. Zee
Gutted to hear that Zee, but chuffed you've escaped with flesh wounds. You need to milk that over the holidays with Mrs Zee.
Sorry to hear about you accident - glad you are not too badly injured as it sounds like you could have come off a lot worse. Glad to see you are so philosophical about it - I would have been fuming. Hope you are both restored to good health soon! Mick
dude im well sorry for you it sucks watching your p&j sliding down the road in front of you hurts more than your injurys i no this as ive only just had mine repaired ! on a lighter note merry christmas mate
That sucks but as you say - it could have been a lot worse. At least it's ridable with minimal work, a good excuse for some mods!
Thanks for the kind words boys - that sad thing is i now have 3 bikes which are off the road! Normally ride an old SRAD but its sick so been riding the blade as i have no other way of getting to work (except public transport but thats... well... public!) Going to sell some stuff and put the cash towards the repairs so should be tip top in no time
last time i came off a bike on ice, i was 17 years old and didnt have a car, now my bikes dont even come out the garage unless its 100% dry
As said above, It's always shite news to hear when someone comes off but at least your not too badly hurt and can still enjoy christmas, Off with the old and On with the new bling mods..........
I have some spares for them, you can get all the parts on own so if you need prices etc no problem, simon had the old ones off his blade back they.only needed a footpeg may be worth asking him if he.sold them or whatever..
Sorry to hear about your spill.I know it's gutting but the main thing is that you are OK and the bike sounds an easy fix. Have a nice relaxing Xmas.
Very good point young man! I'll ask him as most of it seems to be intact - just bust one of the big bitty thingy-me-bobs..! cheers
