Seems to be generally agreed by all not to tell the insurers, glad I didn't now. Gonna cost me a bomb to sort everything myself but prob' the best option.
I had a low speed off last year when a dear ran out on me! Panel damage only however the cost to replace the panels was £2600 and that was without labour, I bout carbon panels from conquest carbon and and did the repair myself for less than £850. Like you my excess is £500 and by the time of loaded premiums for the next few years I would have paid more then £850 and I have the look I want now so am happy
My bike is a 2008 model and yes £2600 was for new oem honda panels! Unfortunately for me nearly every panel got damaged
@martinowen has a set of 2007 panels give him a shout not the same colour but might be a good alternative
Got to wait till Thursday when I see the bike, apart from knowing about grazed r/h/side panel, brake pedal, indicator, I know nothing about other damage.
The engine cover gets it on a right drop..... you can get them from the states at a fair price.......... a guy called Yorkshire Gooner on here brakes blades may be worth a shout. Mike. Lovely Bike by the way!
Cheers, I'll note that. It looks even better than that, it has the new GSG rear brake reservoir fitted junking the standard reservoir. I've also got the Gilles crash bungs, which I assume helped, don't know how much tho'.
Well, I only got to look at the damage to the bike this weekend, not too bad could have been a lot worse. The bungs have obviously saved a lot of damage but I don't think I'm being to harsh in saying they could have prevented almost all damage (except maybe rear sets) had they been about 15-20mm longer, especially considering this was a low speed crash.
