So, what are peoples opinions on the best Mods to start off with on a 2012 20th anniversary blade? Ive got between £1,000-£1,500 to spend but the best part of that will be going on the Taylormade Exhaust and fender eliminator .
i have the same bike mate, i have enginge protection, braided lines, tail tidy, yoshi bar ends db screen, fork protectors plus a few other bits, all seem to do there job and look ok too
As above, protection in case the worse happens, 3 × braided lined from Mike at BDS for £60, PCV to correct the fueling for the TM as the standard exhaust is very efficient, if it's still on the original qualifier II's bin them and fit PR4'S or Metz M7RR's. Enjoy.
Yes, it already has r&g engine case protection and crash bungs. The race set up braided lines are top of my list too. I was going to change the tyres anyway as I love my Pilot Power 2CT's, had them on my last 2 bikes and will probably stick with them to be honest and they have already been budgeted for. The TM website says it doesnt need a power commander so wasnt planning on that just yet so may have to factor that in too now. TM do them as a package when you buy the zorst from them so may look into that. Im also really set on a Quickshifter but not sure which one. Ive seen one on ebay that also has launch control but not sure if that will just get my licence taken off me within a week!!! I may just get the dynojet one to go with the PCV, that'll be my budget pretty much blown then
Depends on what you want Suspension and good tyres. would be my start. Either buying good suspension or getting what you have set up for you. I did this with my 2011 blade and for £40 it transformed the bike Otherwise A exhaust (read the reviews about the Taylormade on here, just use the search) looks good made out of cheese so I hear. But i've not had one myself. And protection, ventureshield is good to protect the front bike from stone chips and ear from boot scraps. and rad guard. R&G crash bungs are a good idea
Fork revalve, springs and suspension setup for your weight. Do the front forks first. They're far more important than the rear shock. Tyres. Braided lines. Spend the change on a holiday
I was planning on getting sone Chinese fairings anyway and having a very similar design on this bike as I have on my GSXR as I really like the design and colour scheme. But then I thought about getting either a castrol or rothmans rep as the Base colour is white and I wouldn't need to do a DVLA colour change or tell my insurance .
I have the same bike from new. I have kept it fairly standard; but best thing I've done is get rid of Qualifiers the other weekend after two years. i fitted M7RRs. Next stop is to get suspension sag set up.
Avoid the Taylor made exhaust, looks nice but build quality is questionable and not much lighter than the stock exhaust. There are much better exhausts about for better money and performance, unless you like the clean lines that the TM give Get your suspension set up first, decent set of rubber either pirelli DRC or metezeller m7rr or michelin pilot road 4. Tail tidy won't break the bank and makes the bike look miles better along with taking off the rear pegs! Unless you take passengers
Is this Arrow exhaust a good one to go for? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141403221884?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT I really do like the Smooth, hidden look of the TM one over the usual Exhaust look on Bikes.
I had an Arrow GP2 on mine for all of about 2 weeks and it is without a doubt THE nicest sounding exhaust I have ever heard BUT you WILL get nicked for it and with the baffle fitted it sounds shit! Seriously light and small though. Stick in your earphones and listen to this!
That sounds loverly!! I have to leave home at 0630 every morning so not sure the neighbours would feel the same.
Right. Ive ordered and paid for my Chinese fairings and given them the design I want. Ive sorted out (on another thread) a Bazzaz unit with quick shifter and have also been offered a full yoshi system for £600 (again, on here) but im still torn on the Taylormade system. I know the Yoshi is going to be far superior to the TM system but I cant get past how damned good the TM looks!! Shall I go for aesthetics over functionality ? If it was a woman it would be so much easier, go for the sexy one with the horrible voice over the clever fat one!!! But this isnt as easy as being fickle in love!!
