Well.......... I've now had my 2015 Fireblade just over three months. This was the replacement for my 2011 Fireblade. Basically I've fitted the exact same items to the 2015 blade as I had on the 2011 bike. Power Commander V RaceFit Black Edition O2 Sensor Eliminator And at the moment I've just blocked the Pair Valve (Marble in the downpipe from the Air Box) So, after three hours on the dyno, how did it compare with my 2011, which at that the time of mapping had about 2k miles on it, compared with my 2015 that has about 1.5k on it. Here's the graph from my 2011 bike, carried out by Crescent Honda at Verwood and tuned by their top guy who also sets up their race bikes........... This was my first 1ltr bike and I learned so much. As you can see, I ended up with 162.5 bhp & 80lbs of torque....... Rode really nice, but being relatively new (Had 20 years away from bikes) to big bikes I was amazed how easy it was to ride. So....... After Honda claimed a very slight power increase on the 2014/2015 bikes of about 2bhp what was the difference, having fitted exactly the same items. The results show a gain of 1.5bhp (164bhp compared to the 2011's 162.5bhp), but a very slight loss in torque of 1.8 lbs (78.16 lbs Torque on the 2015, compared to 80. 02lbs on the 2011). But you can quite clearly see the smoother and better power delivery in the lower rpm range (2k - 6k rpm range). Ambient temperature was 19deg. Humidity 93%....... This didn't help...LOL. All off this means not a lot really, and I fully appreciate these figures are altered by weather conditions, ambient tempreture, humidity, and dyno's vary over time. Today we had an ambient temperature of 19 degrees but 93% humidity, not the best for giving big figures...... But Hey Ho. But at the end of the day, the ride is very smooth, no flat spots, no hesitation, and the biggest difference over stock is how smoother it is at low rpm. My bum dyno cant tell any difference in acceleration, but I can tell the difference in the smoothness of the power delivery, as said especially at low rpm. Money Well Spent for me, and it just makes the bike even easier to ride. Love it.
Yes, I ran it there with your map, but it was running slightly rich in most places. Which suited me, that meant I didn't risk running lean and doing any damage on the way there. But still a good base map for them to modify. What Torque and BHP figures did you get with your map....... and was the power and torque curves similar ???
Yep, happy with the figures Steve, but more please with the smooth power delivery. Would have liked to do an overlay of the two power graphs, but that's way over my computer skills and the graphs are slightly different too.
Smooth delivery is Good! Had better watch out or you'll be hustling between the black bikes next time
According to the 2015 Brochure : 2014/2015 : Power : 133kw.... That's 180.88bhp @ 12,250rpm (At the flywheel) Torque : 114nm...That's 84lbs @ 10,500rpm Maybe someone like Arthur can suggest the average transmission losses, but from what I've read on various forums (Don't take this as gospel) the transmission losses are somewhere in the region of 12 - 15% on recent 1ltr Japanese Sports Bikes, which in the case of a bike having 180bhp at the flywheel, would be a loss of between 21 - 27bhp.
Thanks for posting the dyno info,mine goes in on 23rd for a PCV install and custom map so I can compare figures,I will be happy if my numbers are similar to yours.
That's a really good result. I was expecting the Acropovic to give better torque than the RaceFit, but that's a great bhp figure too. Bet your well happy.
I just knew that was coming............. Barsteward Repsol's are like a good wine, they need time to mature, then they get faster..................
