As I'm off to the 'ring in a couple of weeks, I trial fitted the kriega to the blade and I wasn't happy with the way the rear of the bag overhangs onto the tailpiece. Any suggestions as to a quick/cheap fix to stop it wearing the paint down? I was thinking insulation tape onto the paint (as its only for a week). I had that non-slip stuff on my last bike but it marked the paint so I wont be using that again! Any suggestions welcome! Rob
If you have a local bike shop, check for Oxford products, they do a clear film that is£20 a roll, near invisible, and thicker than ventureshield. Think they also do it in black. I put it on mine on the sides of the tank.
Non-Slip rubber mat. Loads of money from a bike shop, peanuts for the same stuff for carpets. http://www.amazon.co.uk/slip-safety-under-rubber-underlay/dp/B004K3G5B6/ref=pd_bxgy_201_img_z
Rob, I (and most of us here) had the same problem with any luggage overhanging onto the tail. I do NOT recommend those non-slip rubber mats. Sand or even small pieces of gravel will inevitably find the way under the mat, and the damage is certain. I DO recommend the Oxford (or in fact the 3M) transparent sticky film. Once fitted properly you can't see it and after the trip you just take them out.
Yes that's exactly what happened to my last bike. Mat got wet and marked the rear tail piece. I've put some clear 3M film over the whole back end now, it's not pretty but it'll only be on for a week. Thanks
